Looking to end the year big with a nice sports car.

I’m highly considering one of my favorite cars, Subaru WRX (Maybe even the STI). Only drawbacks is it’s probably due for a remodeling in 2020. Wouldn’t want to get caught up with an older body that I might hold off until the new style comes out. Doubt it’ll be anymore different. The engine might be new, distancing itself from the EJ, they might go the wrx route and revitalize the FA engine.

Other than that, the Civic Type R is very aggressive, design wise. It’s a FWD car which takes away points in NYC for snow (nothing a good pair of winter tires can’t fix) and auto rev match with ability’s to turn off seems good.

If I’m doing sub $25k I’m looking at the BRZ, especially in manual.

I know the honorable mentions would be Focus RS and VW GTI

If we’re talking MPG, the Honda Accord or Civic versus the new Camry is dope. Might even consider the accord hybrid but I know I’ll get tired quick of how slow it is.

I like the idea of leasing and being stress free after 3-5 years. If I’m buying used, It’ll be under $7k and I’m looking at the RSX Type S (transmission issues/third gear problems) or a TSX. Civic SI (2008) does also seem good.

used corvette zo6 everyday of the week. Reliable as fvck. Can put 900+whp down reliably without building the engine

If you can get your hands on an S2000, Toyota 86 or an MX-5, that would be swell, there a few good used ones on autotrader.

Uh... you know you can buy a Porsche right? There are some other good options but.... man... would you rather take a PORSCHE tomorrow morning or a... Honda...

900 maybe after you install a turbo or blower and upgrade:

fuel system
exhaust
transmission
suspension
tires

Get a Q50 on lease return for 25 to 30k. They are nice and fast.

I love my Mustang man. Very good control, fast car, beautiful sounding engine (and strong engine, 300hp in the V6 model). Plus she's a beaut.

Miata is the cheapest and solid option. Are we talking the older models?

S2000 was on my list. A Porsche sounds really nice and that’s my dream line for the future but that’ll be pricey no?

You would either need to be extremely well off or borderline retarded to drop 40k on a new car, particularly if financed but not far off from being as bad if paid with cash, with a looming recession and inevitable following depression.

the s2000 and miata are both fantastic, but they are true sports cars and i def would not want to regularly drive one of them in NY winter conditions. it sounds like you want a daily driver thats also fun to drive, and in that case i think the sedans you mentioned in the OP are all solid options. i would probably look for a used WRX or Golf.

I do in terms of my relationship with my director, as of right now after taxes and expenses were looking at a combined income of $52k-55k

Corvette Z06/C6
BMW M3
BMW M5
Nissan 350Z
Nissan 370Z
Honda S2000
Subaru Impreza WRX STi
Mitsubishi Evo
Nissan Skyline R34
Toyota Supra
.....

I would probably go with the Corvette Z06... you would almost be to stupid not to go with the Z06 if you are looking for the most BANG for that money, its actually an exotic...

It looks the best
It runs the best
It sounds the best
It has a brutal N/A engine with uber bhp per litre (sounds/responds/revs insane, no turbo/charge bullshit to compensate for lack of engineering)
It has manual transmission & clutch (you feel more involved / in manual control of the engineering/power, more skills required, rather than technology doing everything for you and again manual/clutch sounds better shifting up/down)...

and unlike essentially all other muscle cars, this one actually has handles, it actually does not handle like a yacht...

Its just pure orgasm...

As good as it gets.... you WILL regret not going for this one, just get it and please do us a favor and give us some footage so we can fap. :)

It won't have the best performance and you'll get smoked off the line by today's economy sport's cars but I've been thinking of getting a watercooled Porsche 911. They look just as nice as anything out there today and they handle super sweet. Prices look between $28-36k for the the mid 2000s with 50-80k miles. Normally I wouldn't think of it, but there's a mechanic 20 miles from where I live that works on BMW, Audis and Porsche out of his home, that's really cheap. People bring their cars to him from hundreds of miles away, he's that cheap and good. He accepts cash only though.

if youre going to spend 40k on a car, do not buy one that's 12 years old. just my opinion.

You can't go wrong with an 07 Z06, but don't think you are getting anywhere near 900 hp with a power adder unless you have all the supporting mods. You can buy it and build it as you go which would be a very enjoyable endeavor.

http://www.superchevy.com/features/1805-890-wheel-horsepower-2007-corvette-z06-ultimate-therapy/

You could buy one with a blown engine and drop a 434 in there and have 700 hp NA all day and then add a 300 shot of N20 when needed to clean up on the streets during street racing or track events. I wouldn't do a 4" crank with boost because it will flex. Even a dragonslayer crank will have issues. I'm a fan of the 3.622" crank on the LSX motors. 700 NA is plenty for the street and you don't have to wait for a turbo to spool. Throw on the 300 shot and your running mid 8's. At that point, you might want to get cage for it in case you roll it. What do you want to do? Have a stock sports car like everyone else or something you built that you can take some pride in?

:lol

I have nothing against corvettes, I think they look sleek but besides the nimbleness, I'd prefer the Porsche AWD over a vette because I wouldn't have to drive with high stress in the rain and snow.

i dont have anything against the vette. its got one of the greatest engines of all time, and probably gives you the best horsepower per dollar ratio of any car you can buy.

that said, its def an old mans car (https://blog.cargurus.com/2017/02/01/will-a-new-corvette-appeal-to-younger-buyers), and commuting in NY winter conditions in a 700hp vette would be a ****ing nightmare.

why would you buy a sports car for a daily driver? :facepalm I think you meant daily driver is what you are looking for. In that case Golf R. Discreet, AWD Big stock turbo capable of 400whp on meth or e85

i'd go with the GTI.

They are beloved cars for a reason, and unlike a lot of cars that you mention you can actually fit people and stuff in it.

The dual clutch automatic is considered one of if not the best automatic in the business, and if you live in a high traffic area i'd consider the auto with the paddle shifters versus a traditional manual.

I think the Civic type r looks look like a 14 year old kid designed it. Just my opinion though.
