According to a Sixers source, opposing GMs have already called to ask if this latest blowup means Butler might be on the market.


Jimmy Butler has clearly, without doubt, proven to be a lockerroom cancer.

Why do GM's not get this?

The NBA is a business, only a distant second a sports league. The owners and GM's seem to think that you simply need an "athletic" wing player to sell tickets and jerseys.

First part is true, but he's only going to shut up if he gets what he wants. Pop would be able to handle him but he basically wants to be paid like a max guy on a winning team while also getting 20 shots a game, he thinks he's Kevin Durant/Paul George/Lebron James.

To me, it's like Dwight Howard all over again. He could be a very useful piece, but he's not going to be happy in a reduced role(where he would be most efficient and useful at on a winning team). He's on a top EC team right now in Philly and that isn't good enough for him.
