I was addicted to NBA 2K5 when it came out on the original Xbox. I thought 2K11 was probably the best the series has ever been. That was an incredible game. After that the series started to suffer from it's own popularity.

Naw Kobe, and lebron were the best players in 2k12. kareem and Jordan were the best from the retro pool in 2k12. Durant was cheese in 2k12 also.

2K15 I probably played the most with friends in MyPark

2K17 Probably the one I was the best at. James Harden Pick n Rolls and 2002 Dirk in the post were money.

If I had to pick just one, I'd probably go 2K17.

2K has been pretty boring since 15. They put way too much emphasis on the MyPlayer or whatever they call it.

I know for profit reasons they can't and won't, but they really should skip a year/two/three and build a whole new gameplay engine. It's time. The Jordan one was the pinnacle. Enough time has gone by and we've played the same game enough to realize it's pretty clunky and doesn't simulate what basketball is (for better or for worse) these days, nor does the AI play like it.

Probably 2k11. The game feels like it hasn't evolved much the past few years TBH. I'm waiting for next gen to see if they overhaul the engine.
