and all he had to do was beat an older pistons team that was missing their perennial DPOTY center while getting a free pass in the other 2 rounds only to get their ass's swept in the finals
the cavs weren't all that bad. they were built on rebounding/defense/three point shooting and all lebron needed was to get hot for 1 week to make the finals after coasting the entire season
not impressed... imagine if it was like that in the west and all kobe had to do in 2006 was beat the phoenix suns then coast through 2 sh*t teams
and he would have if not for a tim thomas bail out
meh

Iverson's run that season was overrated.
Should have ended Game 7 in the 2nd round against the Raptors, would have too if McKie didn't bail him out

You boys praised Lebron for reaching the finals in the weakest conference ever with 10 potential double digit scorers on his team and I proved you wrong again.
I don't get why Lebron stans even talk about those years, most of you didn't even know how to ride a bicycle in 2007.
Plus, no need to mention Kobe all the time. :confusedshrug:

2007 Cavs:. #7 SRS.. 50 wins.. 2 seed
2007 tDET:. #6 SRS.. 53 wins.. 1 seed
2018 Cavs:. #14 SRS.. 50 wins.. 4 seed
2018 tTOR:.lt #2 SRS.. 59 wins.. 1 seed
1989 Bulls:. #10 SRS.. 47 wins.. 6 seed
1989 Cavs:. n#1 SRS.. 57 wins.. 3 seed
^^^ Jordan's 89' upset matches lebron's 18', and both exceed 07'... But MJ did more with less, since his 6 seed took the champs 6 games, while lebron's 2 and 4 seeds had record sweeps.
Also, MJ only lost to 1 and 2 seeds as the underdog, while lebron lost to a couple 3 seeds and a 4 seed, all as the heavy favorite.. so MJ did more with less
Finally,
Jordan 1989:. 33/8/8.. 47 wins
Lebron 2007:. 27/7/7.. 50 wins
Lebron 2009:. 28/8/7.. 66 wins
^^^^ This was the case every year from 85-89 versus 06-10, where MJ's greater stats resulted in lesser wins.. the only explanation for lebron getting more wins with less stats is that his better cast made up the gap

And the goat Finals run was the Knicks in 99', who were a hopeless 8 seed.. lebron was a 2 seed... All-time great performance in game 5 though - that's what sort of overrated the actual upset.. lebron won that series with 25 ppg

Was that the year Ewing went down and Houston/Sprewell got them to the 8th seed and then he came back?

I'd never dispute that wasn't an awesome run, but the Knicks were far from your typical 8 seed. They had been a perennial ECSF/ECF team for nearly a decade, and had the season been 82 games I'd be shocked if they remained in the 8 spot

Sounds like lebron's 18' Cavs - yet you still give them props for making the Finals
That's where stats can be deceiving - the stats in post #21 above say that lebron's 18' run was a bigger upset than his 07'... but like you said - lebron's team was 7-time, defending conference champs that had a tumultuous RS..
so lebron's 07' run with a young, inexperienced team was far tougher than his 18' run with a bunch of experienced vets... And both were inferior to MJ's 89' run, as the stats show, as does circumstance (young, low seed)

King James Harden is single handedly, by himself, proving that the GSW were highly over rated and nowhere close to this "unbeatable greatest team of all time that no one man can beat".
King James 1v9'd those fools including vs refs + Silver and still absolutely owned their souls.

And people can't make the "bu buh Bran was in the finals!!" excuse because everyone and their grandmas know that those '86 Celtics would absolutely wipe the floor with the '07 Spurs.
