The Warriors are a shot being 2 inches left from going for a 5 peat.

Yep.

And even if KD doesn't go there if they had won in 16, they likely use that money to land someone else that would have really helped them as an upgrade over Barnes.

The Warriors are a historical aberration with KD pulling the move he did combined with the cap mechanics they were fortunate to pull off.

Even then I believe they can be beat(see last years Rockets series)..depending on how Cousins comes back.

They've had some luck too. The Cavs would have beaten them in '15 if they were at full strength.

Russells Celtics could have lost like 4 more times....but they didnt. All dynasties eventually lose.....and almost lose a bunch of times along the way. They are no different.

Meh, hindsight hypotheticals

2017 Cavs could say were Love/Irving injury combo from 3 peating. But we all know it doesn't work that way

Warriors couldn't sniff a bucket with 5 min left in the game and got beat down three games in a row. And quite frankly shouldn't have even been there if Silver didn't pamper Green's tantrums all WCF.

Every decade of the NBA has had 2-3 consistent dominant teams. 90's having the biggest stretch of the least appealing competition.

Quite a lot more has to happen for the Cavs to win 3 titles than for the Warriors to have 4 right now....

not really

an irving injury is more unfortunate than.... a missed shot which is purely self fault.

same for getting a LEGIT charge overturned

not really

Really.

We are talking a couple plays vs 2 entire series being played differently....one of them going from 4-1 one way to the losing team winning.

It's amazing that the Bulls dynasty never faced an elimination game in their six finals series. They did face a couple in the ECF, and then there was the Orlando series when Jordan came back at the end of the season.

Too bad Jordan had an itch to play baseball, because it would have been real interesting to see whether the Bulls could have 8-peated. My guess is that the wear and tear plus Hakeem would have gotten to them. Also, who knows how much it would have changed things if Grant had stayed on the Bulls and they never signed Rodman.

If Worthy/Scott were healthy in 91 and Ceballos in 93 both those series probably go 7.

um, a missed shot is a missed shot... its not even a valid hypothetical.

an injury, especially one caused by a warrior themself to turn around the score of the series as it hapened THREE times in all THREE of their runs, is the epitome of a flawed ring.

A missed shot is a single thing. Its 1 second. Youre altering 10-14 entire games.

Its like me saying the Knicks lost a title by a single Starks jumper that could have won the 94 finals then you saying the Suns could have won the title in 94 and 95 because they blew 2 series to Houston and had injuries.

One is waaaaaaaaaaay more of a stretch with a lot more hypotheticalizing.

if you lose after an injury happens your way and you LED/WON before, you were actually ON PACE TO WINNING.... where as if you want to alter a shot, you were never actually on pace to winning.

so automatically one is a more legit hypothetical than the other. simplez.

On pace to win? Who? The Cavs?

Because of...what? An early series lead?

the 15 cavs, 17 spurs, 18 rockets.

all outplayed the warriors before injuries to their best or 2nd best player

Cleveland lost game 1 that kyrie played in... you're creating alternate realities for your logic.

well, not quite.

it was OT, cavs were down 4 (2.20 left)..

kyrie was on limutes restriction, and the cavs won the game with kyrie on the court.

ergo with the series increasing and kyries minutes picking up, cavs win.
