And the 76ers just scored more in the first half than the losing team did in any game of the 97 finals.

But I suppose you dont see how thats a double edged sword and dont realize that worse defense doesnt make players better.....just makes scores higher

Wow and the Cavs once scored 57 in 2010.

That was between the time when Dwight Howard abused Lebron in the POs and when JJ Barea shut him down in the finals :lol

Toronto: 54 in 2008
Boston: 56 in 2012
Milwaukee: 56 in 2011

Stockton shot 55/42/85 the season in question and Hornacek is a career 50/40/88 shooter. How much could you realistically have seen thembricking shots? The worst shooting numbers in their starting lineup was Russell who shot 48% and 41% from 3 that year.

Basketball is simply just better now. Modern era is best era. Ball movement, 3 point shooting, high paced. Way more entertaining.

Basketball in the past is just ugly. 10 players all clogged up inside the 3 point line trying to figure out how to put the ball in the basketball. Bricking mid range jump shots all game. Just ugly to watch. Players feel slow and unskilled

Competitive defenses don't hold a team to a 35TS% in a Finals game. When your second leading scorer avg. 10pts for the series, it shows that Utah's offense (outside of Malone) was atrocious. Their 4 other starters that game 3 scored a combined 15pts.

Least it didn’t in 1991.
Ya in the 3pt shootout. :oldlol:

I'm disgusted with myself that I owned a '92 MJ poster, a basketball with Orlando Shaq's handprint and an autograph from Patrick Ewing when he was at Georgetown. I threw it all out when I saw LeMassive play for the first time.

Inside-out play, post battles, and more prolific mid range scoring. Way more entertaining. Ok so where does that leave us now? Your own preferences doesn't equate to better. The game was different, and different skills were needed to be successful at it. That doesn't mean one era is necessarily better or worse. I can't wait for another 20 years where the next generation of fan will be saying today's era is shit because of reasons X Y and Z that makes 'their' era better.

Obviously...you were talking about both.

And of course nobody would make that many threes then. Does it really need to be explained? James Harden has missed more threes in a game than Jordan ever took in a game like 5 times this year.

Tell Jeff Hornacek he can take 25 threes I suspect a few go in.

He only took as many as eight 4 times in his career and in one of them he went 14-18 for 40 points making all 8 threes and missing no FTs.

But even if you were making them....it would be considered a dick move to shoot as many as people do today. Klay has taken 24 threes in a game. Harden took 23 a few games ago. Jeff Hornacek only took 25 total shots twice in his life.

Chris Mullin in todays league might be fighting Steph for the single game record.
