Lots of people have written him off because of his defense and the fact that he's supposed to be a shooter but has been horribly inefficient. IMO his shooting will come along. His passing, court vision and ability to break down defenses is already elite though. Whatever team he's on will always have to compensate for his defense like they do with Curry and did with Nash. Huerter was an awesome pick too. Luka will always be the better player but if the Hawks can get a solid player with the Mavs pick like the Lakers did with Kuzma in the Dlo-Mosgov trade, the trade won't look that bad and the future will be bright for the Hawks.

Early in the season he was most definitely trying to do way too much. Starting to figure out that step back 30 foot 3s off the dribble aren

He's gonna be a good player, it's not his fault the hawks traded Doncic for him, which is why most people seem yo hate him.

Yeah he's not some bust just because Doncic is having a phenomenal season. He's progressing along very nicely, probably better than expected tbh.

I remember people writing him off and hating because the Hawks traded their position for drafting Doncic and Young struggled in pre-season and early in the season shooting. Now he's averaged 30 or more the last 6 games.
His shot making style outside the three point line is the closest thing to Curry in the NBA currently.

Far from a bust. This kid is gonna be an all-star at the very least. Exactly the type of PG that you want in today's NBA too.
