Rockets/Nets combined for 106 three point attempts tonight.

70 of the Rockets 105 FGs were three pointers.

These Rockets teams play ugly ass basketball, just an insane amount of iso and 3 chucking...but it can work cuz math.

I have only seen a couple of their games the last couple years and it's just unwatchable factoring in all of the flopping.

We're in an era where the likes of a Gerald Green has free reigns to jack up 15 threes.

What a time.

This.

Back in the day coach would rape you in the lockeroom for attempting 3s when that wasnt your game or if you were a scrub. That was REAL basketball.

This would be the only way Luke Walton can solve Lonzo Ball

basketball is officially dead. its basically slamball now except the 3's are the trampoline

make the court bigger. extend the line... or get rid of it

38% to 34% would solve the problem IMO

it would make 2's and 3's more of an equal ratio of points per shot

25 foot arc or nothing

People got upset at Kobe for chucking a few threes when his teams were behind in the 4th quarter

cue 10 years later and math says that chucking is actually more efficient.

Bump for tonight's Lakers/Rockets game.

Came up one short of tying with 105. Houston only took 68 threes this time.

I've been watching more basketball this year than the past 3 years combined (more free time) but man the high usage of 3s takes some of the joy away. I don't find daggers as exciting as they used to be, there just way more common these days. Even scrubs are making them

The 3 was seen as a novelty for most of the league's history, it was all about the mid/post game to open up the rest of the court. Now everyone is a 3 point sniper, I can't look at what today's stars are doing without thinking of what players of old would have done playing today; hell, Rose is shooting like Curry from 3s and that's one thing he didn't excel at in his prime, Lopez out here shooting stepback 3s at the rate of James Harden.

There definitely needs to be a rule change to bring back balance

The 2ball era is over. It's 3ball time.

My problem is that the teams are all just assimilating each other now. It's not coming down to stylistic differences anymore, just who has the most 3 point shooters and the most wiggle room to live or die off that shot. I mean every morning part of my routine is watching the prior nights game highlights over coffee. It's not an understatement to say that 2/3 of the highlights now are 3 point shots, maybe the odd crazy shot from Kyrie or something like that but every game highlight package is pretty much the same. It's honestly boring as **** to watch(IMO).

This is the future

Perimeter defense has been banned from the NBA so players of all size, speed and quickness can plop onto the 3 point line with zero trouble, catch an unbothered pass, and shoot a virtually uncontested shot

RIP shots from free throw line extended

Welcome record breaking 3 point stats and efficiency stats
