Webber, Peja, Divac, Bibby, Turkeyglue, Christie

They won 61 games with Webber missing 28 of them. That team was ****ing underrated man. They choked against the Lakers, even if we leave out Game 6 and look at their two close losses (leaving Horry wide open for 3 in Game 4, Peja missing wide open corner 3 at the end of the 4th in Game 7).

A healthy Kings team makes top 50 all-time.

That team was built to play so many ways n should have won a title.

Had Bibby and webber
Vets like divac and bobby jackson
High level perimeter defender in Christie
Sharp shooting big SF like peja.

They remind me of the 2015 Warriors. Unselfish team with eye pleasing style of play with a bunch of talented players.

The Kings were slightly less dominant, but they would have given pretty much any team in history a problem. Put that '02 Kings team in the '03-'07 seasons and they probably win a championship in most of those years.

they shot 16 for 30 on free throws and 2 for 20 on three pointers in game 7 of the 2002 western conference finals

it was basically game 7 of the finals

whoever won that game was winning the title

and they shat the bed... the series was rigged to go 7 yes... but the kings outshot the lakers in free throws for the series and just choked in the end

i can't put them in my top 50 for this very reason... great teams win or lose in spite of playing well

IMHO, that 2001-02 team is one of THE best teams to never to win a ring. For most of that series with the Lakers, the Kings just looked like the better team. And that's saying a lot considering who they were playing. If these 2 teams played 100 times, I think Kings win more than 50%. Took a lot of weird stuff for Kings to lose that series. In many other circumstance, they are 2001-02 champs because anyone who saw that era knows the EC was the sacrificial lamb for the WC. That series was for the championship.

That team was stacked.

Another amazing team to never win a ring? 2000 Blazers. Another super stacked team. They should've closed the deal in game 7. Up by 15 with like 8 minutes left. Why does Pip never get criticized for letting this happen? Easy. Because he is always judged by 2nd fiddle standards.

3 peat Lakers were great no doubt but they dodged 2 serious bullets in 2000 and 2002.

Game 6 was rigged against them

Those Laker teams weren't great. They had Shaq, Kobe, and a collection of stiffs. And, the Blazers should be ashamed of choking against them. They had that game by the you know what.

As for the Kings, I don't understand why Stern wanted to cheat against them that bad just because they aren't the Lakers. The 2002 Kings were a great team that the public liked.

What about the 1986 Houston Rockets?

Good question. I would rank that team over the 2002 Kings just because they actually beat the defending champions and advanced further.

In 2010 I made the following list at this link:
http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=170045

14. 1996 Sonics
13. 1991 Blazers
12. 1980 Celtics
11. 1962 Lakers
10. 1958 Celtics
9. 1973 Lakers
8. 1986 Lakers
7. 1990 Lakers
6. 1987 Celtics
5. 1985 Celtics
4. 1982 Celtics
3. 1966 76ers
2. 1967 Celtics
1. 1968 Sixers

I would add the following teams somewhere in the top 15:
2013 San Antonio Spurs
2016 Golden State Warriors
