MJ was rooting for Lebron that Year!

if Steph had won during that 73-9 season with Clay being the 2nd option, Jordan

LeBron James essentially shifted the conversation from "Is Curry catching up to Jordan?" to "Has LeBron passed Jordan?" with the greatest 3-game stretch in NBA history.

And that, fellas, is how a King writes history. :pimp:

Did he hit writers block in 2011?

Did he hit writers block in 2011?
LeBron had a long talk with Stern in Vegas on April 2011 about how Miami winning it all would be bad for business. Bron agreed it would be best if Dallas won but he said he couldn't guarantee that Dallas would win even if he tried his best to throw the series. So Lebron picked up the phone and bought a 2% share in Liverpool F.C. and told Stern he would give it to him for losses incurred if Dallas failed to win. Despite Dirk choking, LeBron came up clutch for the NBA and Stern. Even though he has no use for the LFC share, he's kept it since.

if Steph had won during that 73-9 season with Clay being the 2nd option, Jordan’s legacy wouldve been in serious danger. Not only would Steph be the greatest shooter of all time, but hed also have the most accomplished team, against greater competition with less help than MJ had.
And therein lies the rub

It turns out curry wasn't good enough to get it done that year, so MJ reigns supreme - I do agree that it would dent MJ's next-level status to supercede his 72-win season..

Btw, I would argue that Payton < Lebron... But Kemp > Kyrie, and all-nba Schrempf > lebron-ball Love

It's interesting because Kemp had good win share in his prime, but poor obpm, indicating his stats were a big part of the sonics winning (win share), but the stats themselves weren't that high, or as high as they should've been in relation to peers... I believe this is because he should've been brought up as a perimeter player, and would"ve been an amazing one - his scoring would've been higher as a ball-handler.. but he's a victim of the times, and where he grew up (midwest), where they make everyone tall play inside-out.. if he grows up in CA, he's an all-time great.

LeBron surpassed MJ in that finals and it kills every single MJ fan to the core because they know it's true. Everybody knows they've never seen any player reach the level that LeBron did in 2016 finals... I'm not talking just stats here... but the individual impact on both ends and the clutch play... it will never surpassed or seen again in the sport. When you couple that finals with everything else LeBron has done in his career, he's easily the GOAT.

Lol @ bringing up steph with LeBron and the like... shut the **** up, jesus christ :oldlol:

Lebron's 2016 only matches or is a little less than what MJ did all the time.

The eye test and stats show that clearly, but people simply forget how much MJ carried his teams to rings..

"b-but he had pippen"... And? That's still less star help and production than lebron needed.. people think lebron does more because he chooses to play a more tedious way, but MJ had higher usage and controlled games much more with his style

No, but leading every player in the five major box score categories is a record.

Not. Really.

It's the first time ever happening but not a record.

Why couldn't LeBron protect himself from his Jerry West legacy in 2007, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2018?

And to think how many things had to go wrong for it to slip away.

3 things:

OKC taking them to 7 games the series prior in a bloodbath - thus tiring a team already running on fumes after a stellar Regular Season aka Welcome to the West.
League interfering and taking out Draymond Green - for ratings and to lend a helping hand to Bran/Gilbert.
Steph freezing and choking in Games 6/7.

How did Lebron James lose to a Career Loser in Dwight Howard with HCA while having a 4x DPOY on his squad.

Or why was Lebronze on multiple USA teams that led teams to bronze medals?

And embarrass the United States of America twice with bronze medals?
