I didn't read anything but the thread title. I think during his peak, he was massively overrated. There is no way on earth he was better than Paul Pierce at that time. I think he ended up getting a bit too much negative attention for his later career stuff, which probably balanced things out a bit overall.

If people put him in their top 25 of all time, I think that is definitely too high and would say those people are overrating him currently. All that needs to be said is that AI averaged 33 ppg on 54 TS% despite not having a consistent 3 (more of an era thing) and being past his best years. Can you imagine prime AI in today's NBA? I like Kyrie but AI was easily better, this is a guard's league whereas AI played in a big/wing (more big) dominated era.

Defense is being played and there are great defenders in today's NBA (George, Giannis, Gobert, Kawhi, etc.) but the way the 3 ball is being used + modern NBA philosophy (basically, try to do what the Warriors are doing) he would have easy drives to the hoop he didn't have even right after handchecking was removed
