Your biggest knock on MJ's career is that he lost the 8 vs. 1 matchup twice, the worst odds in sports, while averaging 36/6/7 with 2.5 spg and 1.5 bpg?
Okay.. :applause: ... So you think he's goat then..

Only MJ was an 8 seed... And twice
I forgot to add that to the OP
So MJ had to build a worse playoff team than every other great that he's compared to - lebron, bird, magic, curry, kobe, etc, all entered the playoffs as higher seeds..
lebron has infact never had below a 4 seed (yet his teams often get best worse than many 8 seeds.. :oldlol: )

Your jumping around. Stop it. Jordan had scrub teams and went 1-9 with 3x 1st round exits while Bron was making the playoffs and NEVER lost in the 1st round.
Accept that, let it sink in. No Pip, no chip.

That would've required peak Wilt numbers..
Jordan's 37/5/5 won 42 games, while lebron won 66 with only 28/8/7
So lebron's better cast made up the big gap.
And Lebron himself achieved the 9 seed in 2005 with 27/7/7 and also the Eastern Conference all-star center on his team - so that's pretty bad.... And surely if he got the 8 seed instead, he gets swept by the champion Pistons just like the Spurs did to his 2 seed in 07'... :oldlol:
Which brings up the point - lebron gets swept with 2 seed, (07'), 4 seed (18'), and record loss with 1 seed (14'), but ur knocking MJ for losing with the 8 seed... :biggums:

MJ's sweeps as the 8 seed are better than lebron's sweeps as the 2 seed, (07'), 4 seed (18'), and record loss with 1 seed (14')
in b4... "B-b-but it's not better to lose in an earlier round!!!!"
Going further isn't the issue because MJ went further than lebron - he was 6/6 as 1 and 2 seeds, while lebron lost 3 times with the 1 seed (09-11'), swept with a 2 seed (07'), and had record loss as a 1 seed (14')
So ur cherry-picking when you compare lebron's high seeds to MJ's low seeds - mj had many seasons as high seeds too, and went further than lebron with them

You guys like to compare lebron's high seeds to MJ's 8 seeds, and then say "see, lebron went further, 1-9"
But Lebron never had below a 4 seed in the playoffs, and MJ went much further anytime he had a 4 seed or better - MJ never lost with 1 and 2 seeds... 6/6.... Whereas lebron lost twice with 1 seeds (09 and 10'), and also had goat upset with 2 seed (11'), record loss with 2 seed (14'), and another sweep with a 2 seed (07')... Whew... :facepalm
Btw, although lebron never had a low seed in the playoffs, he did have a 9 seed in 2005 with 27/7/7 and also the Eastern Conference all-star center on his team - so that's pretty bad.... And surely if he got the 8 seed instead, he gets swept by the champion Pistons just like the Spurs did to his 2 seed in 07'...

They don't. Their families take care of them while they play video games, watch TV, and go on the internet all day. I mean, it's pretty clear that 6 finals losses is the same as 6 finals wins in their mind.

2 additions:
- only top 10 player to never lose as the 1 or 2 seed (i.e. kareem lost 9 times, magic/lebron/bird 6 each).. MJ was 6-0
- only MJ/Kobe won multiple rings with only 1 all-star teammate or HOF, except Shaq (who had Kobe), and Hakeem (when MJ was out of league)
Shaquille O'Neal

3ball - As a 45 year old that watched Mike's career from about 1988 onward in its entirety - he doesn't need defended or explained.
He's head and shoulders the GOAT.
30PPG career with 50% shooting and 6/6 with 6 FMVP and 10 scoring titles is widely known and all that needs to be said.
Like someone else said - wake me up when someone else gets their 4th FMVP, let alone 5 and 6. The league is boring since Mike left. Seriously.
