Now he can chuck up 30 useless shots a game while playing zero defense.

Best part in all this for me as a Lakers fan? Melo is off the board, and we no longer are in the running to acquire this fool. Thank goodness! *phew*

Bulls are gonna waive him, so he's most likely going to wait until February 7th to find a team.

Lakers are interested BUT they don't want to waive a player to create room for him

Yeah, I saw that.. Means Lakers are still in the running for Melo.. :hammerhead:

Lakers can waive Caruso or Jonathan Williams to make room for Melo, can't they? I know both are on 10-day contracts so idk how those temporary contracts come into play :confusedshrug:

lol I still do not buy Melo as the scapegoat for the slow start. They just had a slow start, simple as that. It happens all the time with contending teams. I mean, its a 34 year old Carmelo Anthony, he was averaging 13 and 5 off the bench, in a career low MPG, FG% was roughly the same its been his entire career. He was fine coming off that bench. And if D'Antoni was the problem due to their past, why the hell did they even sign him?

^not true. He was a net negative everytime he stepped on the court. His defense was awful. His iso midrange doesn't fit in the Houston's offense.

He's cancerous

I mean, he has never been a good defensive player. He has always been a one way, top scorer.

That's great.

He ruined Porzingis and now he can ruin Markannen

He had like 3 nice games for the Rockets out of the 10 he played in. That's why his stats look a little better.

If you exclude those 3 games, his averages go down to 8.6 ppg and 5 rpg on a dreadful 31% shooting. To top it all off, he made Harden look like mother****ing Gary Payton on defense. Melo was atrocious with the Rockets and he was a big negative whenever he stepped on the floor. Took away shots from his teammates while shooting a very inefficient percentage. He's a cancer at this point of his career and should just retire or go play in China

Hes going to the Lakers. Him and Lebron can get the Lakers to the playoffs.

What sort of lineup you expecting?

LeBron
Kuzma
Melo
Ingram
Lonzo/Rondo

??? That would be horrendous defensively, and not a playoff team

Well if Lebron starts pulling his weight defensively it can be a great team. I thought he was an ATG defender?

If the Lakers sign Melo I'd be seriously disappointed.

Only time Melo was arguably better than LeBron was in 2003-04 when they were rookies
