Bad after 2008? Lakers were top 6 on defense from 2009-11.. Kobe's defense slipped with age but that was age 33 and beyond and on teams with little depth that forced him to play 37-40 mpg up until his achilles injury. He could still guard the opposing PGs, he was still a good-great on-ball defender.
