He played well last night, although I was surprised at how few rebounds he got. It wasn't for lack of effort, I saw him going up for them a lot. I don't know, he may need to work on anticipation and positioning better to leverage his strength and athleticism. He should be getting more than 5-6 rebounds in a close tournament game. In fact all the offensive rebounds Duke/Zion allowed almost lost them the game.

Zion's handles and posts still need refinement but they are still very good. He's got a nice up and under and drop step. But like the rest of his game, he's going to be limited until if/when he develops a really good pull up jump shot and at least a respectable three point shot. As much as we knock LeBron for his limits as a jumpshooter (which certainly has some validity), he's developed it enough that you can't ignore him from the perimeter and he can, at times, get really hot. I don't see that from Zion yet at all.

Still, the sky's the limit. His shot form needs work but it's not horrible. He needs huge amounts of practice on form for FT, jump shots and threes. But he'll still feast with his athleticism, motor, and hustle, especially in today's spaced out offense and relatively soft interior defense.

They swarmed him and congesting the lanes making it difficult for him to even put the ball down. It looked like he was trying to do a bit too much earlier on but calmed down later. To be fair, you can't really put it on Cleveland that LeBron was such a failure. They gave him everything that he asked for but he's play style just wasn't built for wining against a WCF champion. Im gonna be honest here, some of us older heads and older analysts/ex players at times criticize or downplay some of the newer stars. Whether we're right or wrong, justified or not, we're the first ones to stop the 'in the moment' HYPE of today's stars. But that's not the case with Zion. I've seen many analysts and fans that one would think would criticize or downplay the hype be as excited if not more than the younger ones. His foul shooting is showing some progress. Over his last 6 games he is shooting 45/61 (74%) from the line. He is going to get to the line a lot so making them at a decent rate is obviously important.

From what i have seen his primary weakness is defensive rebounding. He is averaging 5.3 defensive rebounds per 36 which isn't going to cut it, especially for a small ball C. Luka is averaging 9 defensive rebounds per 36 playing on the perimeter.

I have seen people criticize his transition D but i don't think that is a big issue. A lot of teams will have a guy who they let crash the offensive glass while everyone else has to get back for transition defense. I think the Pels are content to let Zion hit the offensive glass while everyone else gets back on D. I also think Zion is trying to conserve his energy a bit by being casual in transition.

Bad news for the league if he becomes a steady 75% free throw shooter. There goes any 'hack a Zion' end of game tactic if that happens.

His offensive rebounding more than offsets his relative lack of defensive rebounding. He's directly giving his team more offensive possessions and often once he gets the board he's too fast off the ground (and too physical/strong/athletic) for all but a handful of players to prevent an easy two.
