View Full Version : LeBron Had the Easiest Trip to the Finals

Out if all the ATG talents, this guy had it the easiest. Stacked the deck against the worst Eastern Conference of all time for his trip to the Finals. 8 Straight Finals is only impressive on paper. Digging it, his all star cast faced the weakest competition.

Yup.
The East has been a flaming bag of diarrhea dog shit and at times laughable for the majority of the 2000's.

No shit. The East has been incredibly weak now going on for 21 freaking years.
The sad part are the times when he didn't make the Finals because he lost despite the fact that his teams were the overwhelming favorites. Dwight Howard comes to mind.
All time greats like Jordan never failed when they had the home court advantage.

1-9. That's all that needs to be said. Lets not forget that Ordan was losing with Pippen and you idiots expect LeBron to win with Delly and Mo.
OP, you do realize that that Lakers were playing 30 win teams in the PO's, right? At one point, they were facing a sub 40 win team in the WCF.

Yeah, 1-9, 8th seed going up against teams like the 86 Celtics. Which at the time was considered to be the greatest team of all time.
Obviously the point is that Lebron shouldn't even have been in the Finals most years. Of course his teams were not going to be good enough to go up against the West. And he could so easily have been 1-9. By very lucky bounces he was able to win 3.

That not how it works. :facepalm :facepalm
How is that concept still so hard for you people to understand?
If LeBron played in the WC, he'd be on a better team. The WC has more All-NBA players and All-Def players. You just can't place the Cavs or the Heat in the WCF. Even if LeBron played his entire career in the WC, I don't see him winning any less than 3 FMVP's and the 4 MVP's. Literally the only player other than Jordan to have those accolades.
Still 1-9 is 1-9 and Jordan is a career loser without Pippen. Those are just simple facts.

Jesus! You retards do not understand context? Dude could've gone to any team, if he wanted to form a superteam. He cared more about his businesses and his kids. That's the reason why he's with the Lakers. You think '10 LeBron would've gone to the ****ing Clippers or the Wolves or the Warriors?

No....he couldn't have gone to "any team" back then nor could he this time around. He came to L.A. because he thought another star would be there. PG13, Kawhi, Butler...whoever

Magic definitely needs to be a part of this discussion, while he did face a few teams better than any LeBron did his last 5-6 Finals runs, some of those stretches he was facing in the mid 80's were inconceivably bad
1984: 38, 43, 41
1985: 36, 42, 52
1987: 37, 42, 39
Dude was going to the Finals not even playing 44 win teams in his conference, playing teams without a winning record in TWO conference Finals :oldlol:

Bran hand picked his teammates and forced the Cavs to give contracts to certain people. No excuses for LeGM

But then he was going 2-1 in those Finals against the goat celtics, not getting demolished by record amount
So we know Magic would've made the Finals most years out East, since he won the majority of his Finals (beat the best East team)
And imagine making the Finals averaging only 26 on 43% in the first 3 rounds.. like lebron did in 07.. And i think 13' and 14' too... Whereas MJ needed over 30 on about 50% every year

Magic's teams fared far better when they reached the finals and top levels of competition though.
That's because Magic played team oriented basketball and not cancerous lebron ball. That enabled him and his team to capitalize by having fresher legs than than their worn down eastern opponent. It's what lebron SHOULD have done, but his cancerous style of play negated any resting advantage. He was beating weak teams on his way to the finals and was far more well rested than his opponents in all 9 finals. Cancer ball was only good for 3 rings, two that required Kyrie and Allen. lebron wasn't even involved in either of those plays.

Right, there's defense and ball movement
His style is bad for ball movement so he can't have juggernaut dynasties (offensive shortcoming), and he was the only bonafide "bad defender" in his recent Finals losses (defensive shortcoming)
no spur or warrior scored more than 2 pts above their RS average in the 14/15/17/18 Finals, except Iggy (8.5), Durant (10.1), and Kawhi (5.0)... and McGee (4.0)..
so everyone was playing their ass off and holding their man down, but lebron was the leak that sunk the ship defensively.. and again - offensively, his style prevents the ball-movement needed for dynasties and favorites
Btw, he only needed 26-27 ppg in the East playoffs to make the 07', 11', 13' and 14' Finals, including 22 ppg in the 14' ecf.. that's a joke compared to MJ, who needed over 30 to make every Finals..
