Off the top of my head, need Mays in the outfield. Kent’s MVP season over Roberto. McGwire’s 70 hr season over Thomas.

mays had the better career than griffey but that 1994 season was on pace to be the best all around season ever for a player

he hit .323 with 40 home runs, 94 runs, 90 RBI's before the strike ended the season with another 50+ games left to be played

he would have easly broke roger maris's homerun record and the bonds/sosa/mcgwire record chase steroid era never takes place

all while being the best defensive centerfielder

and no way is mcgwire better than 1994 frank thomas. another victim of the strike shortened season that cost him around 60 homeruns himself while hitting a MUUUUUCH better .353

mcgwire's 70 homerun season was cool but he hut .299 and wasn't that great at anything else

and wtf @ kent lol.. he was mvp because bonds protected him

he wasn't even 1/100th as good a defensive player as alomar

i go more for 5 tool/2way players for most positions ... thats how you build a team

This is probable as complete as you can get on both sides of the ball

That 93 Jays team though.
I remember being in Winnipeg when they won the WS and the city went nuts. We stormed the parliament and partied until the sun came up.

I remember going to Minnesota watching that exact same team play Kirby Puckett's Twins. Good times

Balanced team. I've got plenty of guys who hit for power and get on base at a high rate (Pujols, Teddy, Hank). I've got amazing contact hitters at the top of my order (Morgan and Boggs). And I've got perhaps the 2 best defensive players at their position of all time (Ozzie Smith and Andruw Jones).

Plus one of the best game managers ever and a SP who, at his peak, was one of the most dominant ever. Certainly of this era.
