View Full Version : Harden would easily average 10-15pts less in previous era's

Defenders are so scared to defend him because they know the refs will reward his every foul baiting move. This wouldn't be the case in previous era's. He wouldn't be rewarded for foul batting and defenders would be aloud to be much more physical with him making it much harder to hit threes and much harder to get to the hole.

Hes such a fraud. Can't wait to see him get exposed once again come playoff time.

He would thrive in the illegal defense era

Harden's a master of taking people 1 on 1 and creating space

in an era where you were forced to defend your man close, Harden would absolutely THRIVE. He would eat double teams alive if they came and would bully ANYONE 1v1 like he does today...

Would be undisputed best SG of the 90's had he played in that era

Well yeah, he would be averaging less simply this year if the league didn't cripple defense even more before the season started. With teams scoring 90 points at the half. You can't touch anyone.

There's also the factor that the strategy for Houston is to let Harden score, unassisted. Witch I do think it's a good strategy for the moment, but it's just not the norm. Other players, say Durant, Steph, would be putting up a similar scoring output if they had such a green light.

Heck, David Robinson had the green light for one game and scored over 70 points.

His entire game is based on exploiting the rules and the refs. Most manufactured 'star' in history. Symbol of the NBA's demise.

I think per the rules this season, that's a legit foul. Something that would not be the case 15 years ago. And thus 98% less chance of getting away with a flop, and so on. He would have to play a completely different game.
