I'm well aware why zone was put in place, but in this 3 point shooting era does it matter as much as it did back in the early 2000s?

What say you fam? I see him feasting whether it be scoring or passing because of the "gravity" his game causes. Not just him either as he's arguably the GOAT center, or player. But lots of guys from back then who had respectable post games and passing ability, opening it up even more for these 3pt shooting perimeter players

Who is that guy? He's just wrong

the post game didn't disappear due to the zone - if that was the case, the college game would never have been focused around the post like it was for most of it's existence

The post game simply disappeared because 3-point shooting made drive-and-kick the most efficient play in the game.

Today's spacing actually makes it easier to feed the post and score in the post, just like it does for all aspects of offense
