Jimmer was a beast in college on BYU where he was scoring 29 ppg on 45% shooting during his last year there. Fast forward to his NBA career and he ended up with career averages of 6 ppg to go along with 41% shooting. He also has 11 total blocks in 235 games for an average of 0.04 bpg.

Why did the Kings ever draft this guy 10th in 2011? They missed out on a bunch of great players, such as:
Klay, Kawhi, Vucevic, Butler, Thomas

And other decent players, such as:
Mirotic, Reggie Jackson, Morris bros,

College hype. Idiots don't understand that college basketball is kiddie competition compared to what they face in the NBA.

Yep pretty facepalm when they traded down instead of taking Kemba Walker @ 7

No doubt but how can you be this wrong? I think Jimmer set a college record at the time for points scored in a single game? But he was a complete bust in the NBA. He never even averaged over 18 mpg I think. He just looked awkward and slow out on the court. Truly sad.

College and NBA is night and day. Problem is Jimmer is a 2 in a 1

Its because he is a white guy you know. If he was black he would have been a multiple MVP by now, but the masons who rule this world would rather deprive basketball from an all time legend than have one that is white. Thats how racist they are. Racism towards white people is killing the NBA.

He's arguably one of the worst defenders the league has seen in the past 2 decades.

Is inability to even play a modicum of defense is the main reason he couldn't hold a job down in the NBA. Offensively, he's clearly very gifted.

Jimmer was player of the year and a great shooter. I'm not sure there's anything wrong in taking him. Just because he didn't pan out doesn't mean it's the wrong pick at the time, especially at 10th.

Kawhi is a great player now, yet if any team picked him 1st in 2011, it would be a terrible decision.

There are 2 things that you have to be able to do in the NBA. Win 1-on-1 matchups on offense and defend 1-on-1.

You have to at least be able to both adequately. And if you are lacking in one of them you better be damn good at the other.

Jimmer wasn't great at either. He was undersized, couldn't take any decent defender off the dribble, and couldn't guard anyone.

He played in the Western Conference...in college. He could get away with not having an NBA game when 90% of the teams he faced were unskilled kids playing zone D. Plus he had the green light to chuck his ass off.

If he fixed his attitude he'd definitely still be in the NBA. He could be a 6th man guy at best. He's just too small and slow to get his shot off vs NBA defenders. Make him a bit quicker or bigger and a better attitude and he'd be be an excellent offensive player at least but his defense would still suck cuz of his T-Rex'itis.

He was so hard to watch in the NBA. He would be so lost on D and couldn't get a shot off. I don't need to re-live this.

Had he been born later and drafted in 2018 instead he would be averaging 20 ppg right now

Jimmers biggest problem was Isaiah Thomas who was drafted the same year as
