Two good centers in our league and both are great scorers but what about defense? Do you think Joel Embiid is WORLDS above Anthony Davis on defense? Does anyone?? :confusedshrug:
Joel Embiid in 2019 season
1.9 bpg
1.6 spg
Anthony Davis in 2019 season
2.6 bpg
1.7 spg
Also, Davis is a 3x season shot block leader while Embiid is a 0x shot block leader

Actually I completely agree. In terms of overall defensive talent Embiid is far ahead of Davis, which is why expectations will be rightfully tempered when AD joins Lebron in LA. Any success they have will be a case of Lebron exceeding expectations and will only stand to enhance his legacy. Davis is simply not a defensive difference maker. Lebron will still have to pick up the majority of the slack.
Embiid and the Sixers, meanwhile, have NO excuses this year. The talent is there. Anything short of a championship, and there will be significant questions about Embiid's leadership and ability to get it done when it matters. That's the reality.

worlds above? no.
Embiid is simply stronger, larger, with speed, he is real center btw.
AD is technically PF, he's better at perimeter defense & better shot blocker.
i would say embiid is dominant at paint and is a slightly better defender.
but worlds above? u are out of ur mind.

This. Both guys are prototype sized at 4 and 5. I think AD best in space and cleaning up overall ljke a KG.
Embiid is like Duncan in that hes a true post anchor

I wouldn't look at block totals. Gobert doesn't get as many blocks as some because of the pace the Jazz play and because players don't want to come anywhere near him
