Some things that come to mind are:

Young core is impressionable and looking to their veteran leadership for what to do when facing adversity.

Yesterday's night off seems like a terrible message was sent to the Lakers young core. The "I take the tough nights off - fend for yourselves" mentality is truly a cancerous, self centered mentality.

LeBron at the very least should have checked in for a few minutes a-la Willis Reed in the Finals just to show the team he's willing to step up DESPITE his physical discomfort. This would have shown them he doesn't fear the warriors as well. This is what separates the mice from the men. The young core now thinks they've got no leader when it matters most. Team is destined to fail with messages like this. LeBron just blundered in this seasons basketball chess match.

Maybe Lebron took the game off knowing that those guys aren't going to be there next week? I mean, they already stole a game from the Warriors earlier in the season, the Clippers game was kind of more important in a sense that we could be looking at a tie-breaker at the end of the season.

But yeah, if he pushed through and got up for this game, we might have been looking at another Lakers' win. The 2nd unit played well, but we needed someone to close out the game, Lance was just chucking 3s in transition and turning the ball over.

Same thing he's always taught his team mates...

When it gets too hard, quit

It told them that the guy is 34 with 16 years of NBA wear and tear on the body.

They should expect more of this "load management" stuff in the future.

OP is telling us all a lot about himself...creating yet another ALT and yet another Lebron thread to again anonymously talk shit about Lebron to strangers on the internet.

Meanwhile Lebron is going to be a billionaire, a top 10 NBA player of all time at the absolute worst, and has helped millions of people through charities and job creation.

The cognitive dissonance that OP shows is astonishing. Lebron pisses more excellence in the morning than OP could ever achieve with his greatest efforts.
