Thinking about seeing a Doors cover band if they ever make their way to my area, most I see are cringe worthy but in this case these guys are pretty damn good.

its hard enough for me to get the initiative to see a real band play

its not so much them that is the problem. its all the other people squished next to each other standing all night sweaty and smelly on drugs

I agree, if I have to take a shit I don't want to have to go through a sea of people only to wait in a endless looking line. But then again cover bands would never attract crowds that damn big

Complete waste of time listening to that worthless drivel.

Better off staring at a wall

You'll have higher quality thoughts that way. And you won't suffer from hearing those silly lyrics playing in your head on loop which wrecks mindfulness and sanity.

:lol you're silly

"Awake.
Shake dreams from your hair
my pretty child, my sweet one.
Choose the day and choose the sign of your day
the day's divinity
First thing you see.

A vast radiant beach and cooled jeweled moon
Couples naked race down by its quiet side
And we laugh like soft, mad children
Smug in the wooly cotton brains of infancy
The music and voices are all around us.

Choose they croon the Ancient Ones
the time has come again
choose now, they croon
beneath the moon
beside an ancient lake

Enter again the sweet forest
Enter the hot dream
Come with us
everything is broken up and dances.

Indians scattered,
On dawn's highway bleeding
Ghosts crowd the young child’s
Fragile eggshell mind

We have assembled inside,
This ancient and insane theater
To propagate our lust for life,
And flee the swarming wisdom of the streets.

The barns have stormed
The windows kept,
And only one of all the rest
To dance and save us
From the divine mockery of words,
Music inflames temperament.

Ooh great creator of being
Grant us one more hour,
To perform our art
And perfect our lives.

We need great golden copulations,

When the true kings murderers
Are allowed to roam free,
A thousand magicians arise in the land
Where are the feast we are promised?

One more thing

Thank you oh lord
For the white blind light
Thank you oh lord
For the white blind light

A city rises from the sea
I had a splitting headache
From which the future's made"

Overrated poet sure, but compared to a lot of the pop songs of their time, or now they are FAR superior.

Tribute bands are alright if it isn't to much. 10-20

There was a great Doors cover band that hit CT, NY, Mass, RI, when I was young. Riders On The Storm. They were great. We used to go see them all the time. If you're into the music it's a nice experience

Only if its fam, free, and i ain't got shit to do.

Which so far has only happened once.

"Covering" IMHO is for teenagers learning their instruments/genres

:wtf:

My respect for you just plummeted.

Anti-gay is one thing. Anti-music?

For what purpose? Is there any music you consider good, or do you think it's all a waste?

Riders isn't a cover band... that's the surviving members with a replacement singer for the late JM. Saw them in Philly. Manzerek is an angel

No Robby Krieger, John Densmore and Ray Manzarek? Boooooo!

Seriously though, saw a Beatles tribute in Mexico in the mid 90s, dudes played really good and even from far looked a bit like the Beatles, just a beaner version of them :lol

Wanted to do a Tool tribute band but we couldn't find a drummer that could pull off Danny Carey's parts :( Also found it a bit creepy/cringey trying to imitate their look and mannerisms. Sounding like them (obviously no one is gonna sound exactly as the original) is good enough for me.
