Yeah, Bran/Harden ball aka monopolizing the entire offense of the team to pad empty zero impact stats only works if you run away to two other HOF level players in their primes.

harden still misses the point a little bit

He says that when Gordon and Paul get back, that "multiple" guys can dominate the ball

And maybe that can beat the warriors, but the objective is for NO ONE to be dominating the ball a high amount because ball movement > ball-domination - that's how all the dynasties have ever played

Some ball-domination will always happen. But when the NBA briefly made the time of possession stats available, they showed that anything over 5 minutes per game was pg-level.. and having multiple ball-dominators at PG-level simply reduces the time and assists of other players (versus their play in 1-pg lineups), causing a low assist team relative to a league of 1-pg lineups/less ball-stopper lineups.

Even magic's teams were 1-pg teams and an astonishing #1 in assists every year - the ball moved on that team and everyone was diming.

The best way to play is to have multiple guys slightly below PG-level, like the warriors do with curry/dray/durant, who are all between 2-4 minutes.. the way to accomplish this is by simply moving the ball more and dribbling less, i.e. running less dribble-intensive plays (which is a different approach altogether)

Kobe feeling a little insecure. I see Harden passing him on the all time list. He already has surpassed Kobe's best offensive season :applause:

With Brick ball, you can't even get out of the first round without a HOF big, let alone make the Finals.

Kobe also said in that same interview:

“I think what James Harden is doing is absolutely brilliant. The true marker of brilliance is when people get tired talking about how brilliant it is and actually try to minimize it.”

funny considering the back of Harden's jersey was the last thing Kobe ever saw in a playoff game

Would Pau "0-16" Gasol have been a HOF if he never left the Grizz?

Kobe said that harden-ball is the preferred style to lead a bad team and keep them above water

Which is true

In Lebron and MJ's case, neither was good at carrying a team to a decent record or seed in their first couple seasons - both had 8 or 9 seeds that missed the playoffs or lost in the 1st round

Only in their 3rd season (06' and 88'), did both guys win 50 games, achieve 3 seeds, and make the 2nd round - so they were good at carrying bad teams by their 3rd seasons, not before.

Lebron fans will say that lebron was younger (21 and 22) making the Finals, while MJ was getting eliminated in the 1st round at that age.. but the Finals was a debacle, and actually a mark on his resume.. otoh, MJ's performance at that ages 21-23 was record-setting and vastly superior

In their 4th season (07' and 89'), the champs swept lebron in the Finals, but took 6 games to beat MJ in ecf.. from the 5th season onwards, lebron lost 6 times with the 1 or 2 seed, versus MJ's zero (6/6) - mj is the only top 10 player that is undefeated as the 1 or 2 seed (the most unbeatable, aka goat)

Ball-dominance is fine but Harden/lebron-ball equal abnormal ball dominance.. for their position or just in general for guys that size

Consequently, their teams are low assist, low ball movement teams that struggle to win on the championship level.. ball-domination = ball-stopper

pseudo 2-pg lineups that reduce everyone else's time and assists like harden/lebron-ball will always be like that..

and tbh, the only difference with harden is that he didn't team-hop in a weak conference or play with as many iterations of all-pro casts... In a weak conference. Otherwise, he'd have the same deep runs and accolades as Lebron, given that his actual production has been superior for years

Or maybe because the f*cking Warriors exist. Nobody is beating them.

Kobe would be losing to them every year too.

He obviously means the way Harden is having to play right now to keep his team from nosediving. And that is obvious. Sizzling hot take there Kobe.

I don't understand what people don't get. This is not the Rockets preferred game plan. Harden's 3 best teammates have been in and out of the lineup most of the year.

That being said they were not going to win the championship anyways.

Kobe should just shut the F up.

You good but aside from the kobe fan boys out there, no one wants to hear you talking about basketball again.

Once again, learn it from the GOAT kobe.

I'm not hating. It's not even an indictment on Kobe. The Warriors are just that dominant.

You guys keep clowning on players like Harden for losing to them as if they're not one of the GOAT teams. Who the f*ck wouldn't lose to them? Only Jordan and the Bulls.

Not the 2000-2003 Lakers team. They'd beat warriors no question. Rockets had warriors beat last year and Kobe and Shaq Lakers we're much better then that Houston team

All you stupid little twits shut up for one second. Between Shaq leaving and Gasol coming Kobe had two years where he led the league in scoring. He had to chuck because his team wasn't that good. I think he speaks from a little bit of experience.

Harden is in full on chuck mode because his best teammates have been hurt. He's been putting the team on his shoulders and I think it's pretty damn impressive.

Wrong.

Kobe is one of the greatest winners of all time and took down giants time and time again.

Kobe and Hakeem had the least amount of help EVER for repeat champions.
