Per my insider source in the Pelicans franchise
NOR is waiting til the last hour before the deadline. They DO NOT want a drawn-out Kawhi Leonard type situation. They want to deal with this situation now. Many in the franchise like Lonzo, but not his baggage. Looking for a deal with PHX on Lonzo.

Lakers have shown interest in random scrubs like Corey Brewer the last few hours... only makes sense if we need to fill roster spots. Something might be brewing still.

Not a good look for New Orleans if this trade doesn't go down and we get a drawn-out scenario. Free agents will keep clear of them in the future. NBA is very much a player's league.

OP, how deep inside the involved parties is your source planted?

Both this (Corey Brewer interest) and the trade for Reggie Bullock come across like a team that's going to be looking to fill out their roster/rotation very soon.
I believe very strongly that AD is going to be a Laker by the trade deadline.

Brewer would actually be a great pickup in such a scenario.
Vets win titles. Those are the kind of role players they will need.
