simple question...
20 years with one franchise. double jersey retirement. 5 championships. winning finals record. MVP chants
vs
16 years burning bridges and destroying franchises 4 separate times. might get his jersey retired in cleveland. 3 for 9. lebrons gonna trade you/overrated chants

The one who LED his team to more championships and didn't ride the coatails of MDE for half of his rings
The one who didn't miss the playoffs in his absolute prime
The one who didn't get swept by Jason Terry
The one who didn't choke a 3-1 lead in the 1st round
The one who has won more MVPs

Kobe averaged more ppg in the 2001 & 2002 Playoffs than Lebron in 2013 and 2016. Kobe for 01 & 02 POs: 28 ppg, Lebron in 2013 & 2016: 26 ppg.
So Lebron only has one legitimate title to Kobe's two.

1. lebrons about to miss the playoffs after his so called "best season ever" and missing about the same number of games kobe missed in 2005. no excuses i guess
2. terry embarrassed peak lebron after beating an injured older kobe that needed surgery and was playing 30mpg that season
3. lebrons choked 2 gold medals away, 2 number 1 seeds away, 8 finals away and was saved in 2 of them by ray allen, kyrie irving and adam silver
4. i guess steve nash is better than kobe, shaq, hakeem, oscar

I hated, and I mean HATED Kobe when he played since A) I'm anti-Lakers and B) He was such a wannabe Micheal impersonator (poor man's at that), but:
No question Kobe is the correct answer. Lebron has gone full retard.

I picked Lebron.
Kobe is an all time great player. He's one of the most skilled players to ever play the game. He also needed Shaq. Without Shaq, he needed Gasol, Bynum, Odom, and Phil Jackson. As he aged, he declined faster than Lebron.
However, Lebron has stood the test of time. At age 34, he's still arguably the best player in the league. When Lebron was given Wade and Bosh, he won multiple championships. When he was given Kyrie and Love, he won a championship. He's carried scrubs to the finals year after year.
Lebron's singular impact, on any NBA team, is a step above that of Kobe's.

needing gasol isn't a negative... theres only 4 legends in history that won a title with lesser all time wingmen
- dennis johnson
- bill walton
- hakeem olajuwon
- rick barry
and kobe did it twice

Lebron is not the best player in the league - Gianni's, harden, Durant, curry and others are clearly better..

So both came out of straight out of high school.
Lebron James even with his blunders is the safest bet. 5 titles is incredible and Magic johnson is another that can share that.
3 with 2 different teams and constant success while bringing in viewership from both beloved and hated is more value to a franchise. If I'm an executive I'd take Lebron. You win, you're competitive, and you make a boat load of money.
Basketball purist you're entitled to choose Kobe. It's a valid argument. But as a business man? Most business man can't be as emotional as some of you. Lebron equals success on and off the court.

With lebron, you need to find 2 other stars for him
Whereas kobe had superior skill to fit into a system that yielded better teamwork, so he needed less talent (only 1 other star needed to win
Kobe's superior skill and teamwork makes him easier to build around.. whereas it's a bitch to build around lebron/harden-ball and that limited skillset (ball-dominance)

You should avoid trying to paint lebron as something hes not. The Lakers were able to overpay lebron because of Kobes impact. Kobe is respected and admired worldwide. Lebron only gets that in basements.

It's a loaded question of course, but for a hometown fan, clearly Kobe's career choices would be far far preferable to LeBron's. Kobe did run the best player to ever wear a Lakers uniform out of town, but he only had a few near prime seasons left anyway.

With Lebron you're always competitive. mention conference parity, etc, you don't dominate a conference and win titles not being a generational talent. You're looking at it from a purist standpoint and that's a valid argument.
But emotions and nostalgia don't mean shit to dollar signs and team value. The Lakers were valued high before Kobe. The Cavs climbed up in value and he's still won a lot of games and shown what he can do.
Not going to debate with you until you get in the right mind frame, minus the emotion or trolling.

so all kobe needed to make the playoffs in the west was kwame/smush
( lebron has a team way better than the 2006 or 2007 lakers and is about to miss the playoffs )
and all kobe needed was a boarderline allstar 18ppg soft big man to win back to back titles
( lebron needed multiple prime hall of famers for all 3 of his rings. wingman that were mvp calliber players themselves and 2 guys as his 3rd banana that were both on pau gasols level )

so all kobe needed to make the playoffs in the west was kwame/smush
And Odom and the GOAT coach. Also, just 45 and 42 wins respectively. The Cavs with 42 wins missed the PO's in '05.
( lebron has a team way better than the 2006 or 2007 lakers and is about to miss the playoffs )
The teams was the #4 seed when he was healthy. A top 3 lottery team with him injured. That's the impact GOAT level players have. Something you Brick stans will never comprehend.
and all kobe needed was a boarderline allstar 18ppg soft big man to win back to back titles
Borderline All-Star? Pau was making All-NBA teams. 4x All-NBA, as a matter of fact. Lets not forget Ariza and Odom either. Doesn't take more than that to beat the ****ing Magic.
( lebron needed multiple prime hall of famers for all 3 of his rings. wingman that were mvp calliber players themselves and 2 guys as his 3rd banana that were both on pau gasols level )
LeBron in '12 went up against 2 All-Stars in WB and KD, 2 All-Def in Thabo and Ibaka, and the 6th MOY. This was with a hobbled Wade and Bosh. Brick never beat a team of that caliber in his life. In fact, he got embarrassed by the same team that year.
if you ask me kobe did more with less in both situations than lebron could
He did not. Kobe's team, relative to competition were stacked AF. You can't compare those teams to teams today, because to win a title this season a team has to beat the Warriors with KD, Klay, Curry, Dray, and Cousins.
That's 2 MVP's, a DPOY, an All-NBA SG, an All-NBA C, and an FMVP off the bench.

Phill was the one that put the word out on Lebron's posse. There has never ever been good blood between them.
But somehow Bran stans expect that Bran would do much better under Phill? Dude would have Phill shipped out by the all-star break and replaced with one of his toy boys. Sacrifice on the triangle? Give up PG duty? :oldlol: :oldlol:

1. mike brown only knew how to coach defense and was a good fit with lebron because of lebrons ball dominant pounding system
the lakers were coming off of phils triangle and suddenly were told to just come up with something new on their own?
2. the lakers had a ton of injuries in 2013 but kobe had one of his best offensive years leading the lakers to the 2nd best record in the nba after the allstar break and tore his achilles. their failure in the playoffs was without him. him getting fired had to do with going 27-55 with pau as lead dog for 95% of the 2014 season
3. Rudy T had a 24-19 record in 2005. they were doing well. then injuries hit the lakers and they went into tank mode with hamblen the rest of the way

1. mike brown only knew how to coach defense and was a good fit with lebron because of lebrons ball dominant pounding system
In '09 and '10 The Cavs were elite offensive teams. So, is Mike Brown a shit offensive coach or is LeBron a masterful offensive player? Make up your mind, little man.
the lakers were coming off of phils triangle and suddenly were told to just come up with something new on their own?

This is literally the saddest and most pathetic excuse of all time. LeBron switched coaches mid season in '16 and then went on to beat a 73-9 team.
2. the lakers had a ton of injuries in 2013 but kobe had one of his best offensive years leading the lakers to the 2nd best record in the nba after the allstar break and tore his achilles. their failure in the playoffs was without him. him getting fired had to do with going 27-55 with pau as lead dog for 95% of the 2014 season
Literally the only reason why the Lakers even made the PO's is because of GOAT level rigging by the NBA to get them into the PO's. Pau also missed 22 games that season and the only three players to play over 70 games that season were Wesley Johnson (79), Jodie Meeks (77), and Jordan Hill (72).
As I said, Kobe is a cancerous coach killer.
3. Rudy T had a 24-19 record in 2005. they were doing well. then injuries hit the lakers and they went into tank mode with hamblen the rest of the way
Are you ****ing retarded? Wait. That's a redundant question.
Rudy T was trying to implement his schemes and Kobe, in practices, insisted on implementing schemes from the Triangle, by scrapping Rudy T's schemes. Then, abruptly, Rudy was forced to resign (in other words, he was fired, because Buss was bending over backwards for Kobe). One of the reasons why he was given a $10M settlement.
Kobe was also the reason why Phil even left the Lakers in the first place.
Kobe has also had like 8 coaches in his career.
are you ever right about anything?
:lol
If you can prove that I'm wrong, then go ahead. I'll hold the L. If not, STFU and move on.
