Love Luka, but dude was an MVP in Euroleague and didn't make even the all-star team in the NBA. This quote means nothing.

He's right. The rules of the NBA make it easier to score. But this also means it about 10X harder to play defense/stop your man from scoring on you in the NBA.

Luka was clearly frozen out by a bunch of dusty ass old heads suffering from an antiquated "rook gotta earn it mentality" that needs to go ahead and die off.

It's so easy to score that his team has a losing record. :oldlol:
translation: easy to put up empty stats in the NBA than Europe

Rubio said something similar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rp2QBmFmwAM
But I imagine it's even worse this year because of the new modifications to cripple defense.
It's easier for him to score, but it's also easier for his opponent to score. So logically it evens out in that sense. He didn't say it's easier for only him to score, and that he has that advantage.

Of course it is.
The NBA doesn't allow defense.

yes, anyone can see that Luka is right, even though he has played in one of the 4 best fiba teams in the world. IIn Dallas it's a completely different situation, where he has a lot more usg% exactly because it plays in an intermediate team (to the nba standard) increasing (even more) your individual stats

I think he is right.
But.
If it is easier to score it means it is also easier to be scored on. So it means.. not much. Higher scoring games. Which we already knew.
It's not easier to win in the NBA. But because scores are higher... of course it's easier to score. After all, in Europe they don't score less because they don't want to score. So. Where are scores higher? In the NBA.
So it is easier to score in the NBA. It's only logical.

if u get 1 point every time u steal & block, i am very sure NBA will be very hard to score.
everyone will try to defend like crazy.

Was he MVP or Final 4 MVP? There's a big difference.
Regardless, starting next season, Luka is going to be in the running for MVP next 10 years.

what does that have to do with a comparison on quality of defense?
Offense dictates those awards in the NBA. Gobert didnt even make an all star team.

Also noteworthy that Luka points out the Defensive 3 Seconds, which I and others have pointed out as THE major difference compared to previous eras.
Lebron fans are probably the least knowledgeable about ball.

I don’t doubt it. There is so much pace and space in the league. There is absolutely no big man rim protectors. And somehow the European game is way more physical than the American one now LOL
Its like a role reversal.
Back in the 90s and 00s? The "Euros" were considered finesse-types. Depending on the player soft as charmin even :oldlol:
I get the league wanted more scoring, but this quote from Luka is embarrassing.

Agreed.
When Americans are considered physically soft ones, I take issue with that LOL
Now, there was a period of time from the early 2000

Why? He's literally averaging more points in the NBA than he was in Europe :oldlol:
The implication is that it's easier to score in general, not just for him.

A few other folks have pointed out that he's not dissing the NBA, he's just saying the truth. The rules in the NBA promote scoring. The court and lane size promote scoring. Defensive 3 second rules promote scoring.
These rules are there for everyone though. Doesn't mean the talent is worse of that it's easier to win.

not only it is much easier to score in NBA as compared to Euroleague, but the coaches in Euroleague ARE actual stars of the teams and they are running the show, instead of NBA coaches just putting on an expensive suits and prancing on the sidelines catering to their star players lol...in other words, Euroleague > NBA if you want to see how a real game should look like. Remember, I didn't mention a single thing about the quality of players from both leagues though...

I agree. The new CBA, media and exorbitant salaries have damaged the competitive integrity of the NBA.
