"I'm sick and tired of the number assault. 'Only one in three players averaged this, he's the only player that shot this well with his left hand....I'm sick of it. "

Live rant in the Pelicans vs Timberwolves game.

Everyone is. No point in throwing out random stats all the time.

He's right mostly...

Stats on crap teams that aren't winning are probably the most misleading thing for player valuation.

Even analysts and die hard fans like people on here fall for it.

People see ppg numbers and all bets are off. I see DSJ, who I actually like, drop 30 tonight for the Knicks. Means nothing...of course he's going to produce when he uses up like 25 offensive possessions for himself.

It is why Davis, for example, despite clearly being great...should have some legit questions about his ability to be a franchise player. Now, you can look deeper into how teams perform when a player is on the court and all that stuff...and some great guys are stuck in terrible situations and so of course there is no rule here that is absolute, but usually great players get you close to 50 wins.

JVG would never say KG wasn't a great player from 05 through 07...so he would agree that the specifics matter as well.

But, broadly speaking, yea...putting up stats on teams that don't win close to 50 games just doesn't mean much.

he's right. Advanced stats virgins are annoying as ****. They don't even watch games they just go to basketball references to see which player is better

Another overjerked West player used to hype the competition machine (which we all know what stems from :lol)

Melo, Love, Hayward, Blake, etc go play out East and disappear

In Western Conference, they're prolific superstars

Fear not, this sequence seized to exist this summer

"DAE Antoiny Davis kinda feel empty padder now amirite?"

For the most part he's right. You have to have somewhat comparable stats also as far as the goat discussion is concerned but winning and eye test are definitely better measurements of talent than stats
