I think Siakam will still be a starter at 4 and why mention Theis, Baynes or McDermott? But i agree it's really great.

I thought they were noticeable/good enough bench guys, especially Theis. But you could be right.

Siakam, VanVleet are better than all the reserves you put for other teams, including Rozier, Smart.
Also Siakam is better than Tatum.

This era is kind of trash. The East in the 90s was way better and way deeper. The non-Bulls teams would destroy all these Eastern teams.

And Shaq I would say. But the dude was talking about teams.
And the East got some good teams this year. I dunno if it's the best top 5 ever in terms of the east tho. Doubt it. Pacers aren't going anywhere. But top 4 would be interesting to see which one would go to the finals.

Not just East. Has the West ever had a top 5 as good?

it's not even better than the current west.

What?
Just off the top of my head.
The 03 West is easily better.
Spurs / Kings / Mavs / Lakers / Wolves
And, the current West is probably better as well.
Warriors would be favored over everyone. Bucks would be the 2nd best team. After that, I'd probably favor a healthy Rockets team over any other team...and the Thunder certainly could be next. Nuggets and Blazers both easily better than the Pacers as well with no Dipo.

the pacers dont count really with oladipo out. They're still only a fairly good team with him anyway.
There are teams with a lot of talent in the East but you could argue even the 08-10 east top 3 is comparable and those werent even great years for the East.
13-15 west is better imo, some monstrous years for the west.

i dont trust okc that much yet. I could easily take rest of top 4 in the east over them even if some are debatable. We'll have to see how much of an upgrade gasol is and who philly plays with that many scorers Rockets are such a wildcard because of injuries so i'm just not sure but for now I like their chances at making the wcf again.

Yea, I agree, but it goes both ways.
You certainly can't "trust" anyone in the East as they are all new teams that haven't done much in the past either.
Not like we can "trust" the Bucks as they've never done anything in the playoffs...although I do think they are going to be great in the playoffs this year.

good point. There's a reason a lot of people are still defaulting to boston as the favorites. I guess I would still lean all 4 having an advantage vs okc however.

93-95 West
01-04 West
11-16 West

It's not. I do wonder how the fit will be with some of these teams. There's been plenty of stacked teams, just a matter of whether or not they can as good or better than the sum of their parts
Philly and Boston have struggled there this season. Milwaukee hasn't and Mirotic should be a seamless fit, but they're still unproven. Toronto... We'll see lol

Spat my drink.
2003 West is a good shout. Maybe. MAYBE. Big maybe.
The Thunder would get destroyed by Toronto, Boston, Philly. Are you serious?

All of the teams in question improved, so, no.
84-88 East
93-95 West
01-04 West
11-16 West
2014 West, 2015 West. 2011-2013 and 2016 West not, affirmatively.
2016 West is too weak after the top 3, 2011 and 2012 neither.
Lakers team with grandpa Kobe having a shit year, Gasol fizzled out? Young Thunder? 50-32 Nuggets? Grizzlies and Clippers formed the 4 n' 5 in 2012.

The clips and grizzlies were 55 win teams in 2013 however. The clips at least had some pretty great on paper talent. Who cares if okc were young, they were a true contender til Westbrook got injured
