Which other ATG had such a low percentage of years with a good roster? KG?

i'd say 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017

he had the #1 record in 2009 and 2010 and supposedly "owned" the lakers head to head ... so how were they not equipped to win it all those years

he had the best team from 2011-2014

and he had the better big 3 in 2016... then in 2017 he had a serious chance to win and just straight up choked a pivotal game 3

i'll let 2015 and 2018 slide due to injuries and losing kyrie

He didn’t have an all star in 2016 and 2010

He didn’t have an all nba teammate in 2009, 2014 and 2017

Wade was washed up in 2014

He had the far worse team in 2017

When we discuss nba legends we talk about their own merits.

When we discuss lebron, we talk about how great or shitty his teammates are

Every year In Miami. I don't want to hear Wade was getting old in 14. Pippen was getting old and was hurt in 98 and mj pulled it out. Bron also had enough help in 2016 and 2017. Pre kd warriors weren't any better than that Cavs team. Even with kd in 17 Cavs should of had a chance. That rockets team in 2018 wasn't any better than that Cavs team in 17 and they pretty much had warriors beat until cp3 went down

Depends on definitions of "good enough"...

One might say that making the finals or winning 60 games automatically means that.

For me...taking into account what his team looked like in the playoffs / finals in a realistic way...

2011
2012
2013
2016

I've written about it before, but I don't think it is fair to just list the years above because 07, 09, 10, 14, and 15...while they don't represent what historically wins title...you can't say he just had no chance at all.

I don't count 17 or 18 because that just wasn't happening....people under-rate how good the Warriors are because of the Rockets series (which is funny because people under-rate that Rockets team)...

So I think it is fair to add 1 or 2 "chances" on to the above...

And conclude that Lebron has had a chance to win 5 or 6 titles if he was essentially the perfect basketball player.

Realistic chances that wouldn't take crazy things? 4.

For example, I'd expect Jordan to have 4, maybe 5, titles if he played in place of Lebron on similarly talented / built teams.

So true. Now that Kobe is gone I can't imagine this board existing without Lebron's drama.

But what about LeBron's stats?!

The 17' Finals should've been a clash of 2 titans, like the 80's celtics/lakers

But lebron won a pathetic 51 games with his big 3, so he was massive underdog and blowouts were expected instead of a battle royale

So lebron should've won in 17' by simply fielding a better team and being a dominant favorite heading into the Finals, so the series was more evenly matched.. but that's the reason he isn't goat - his teams aren't good enough for him to be goat

Ultimately, there's no excuse for his 17' Cavs to lose anymore than the 85' Celtics losing to the Lakers. Because he had a squad..

But overall, he's lost 6 times with 1 and 2 seeds, so he loses with good teams all the time.. MJ is the only to 10 player that never lost with a 1 or 2 seed (most unbeatable player, aka goat).. so we can argue all day about cast and whose losses are more justified, but when both guys had a squad, MJ was the most unbeatable player
