and they did. They played him exactly 25 mins then pulled him out which led to him not playing in the 4th quarter

:oldlol:

Things getting SPICY in NO

if davis gets injured they should sue the league

they would easly win in court

if they didn't want to play him they should have traded him, anywhere. Now they are stuck with a sideshow that's likely gonna end in them being a laughing stock on principle of pride.

So they kinda have to trade him this off season right? They cant do this for 4 months next year....though it would be amazing to watch them try.

So make it so he has nothing to do with all things Pelicans basketball anymore? No practice, no traveling with the team to games, no sitting on the bench???

Just pay him to sit at home until he gets traded?? That could be 6mos. from now or 10mos. from now.

right, and I've got a suspicion the deal they'll have to settle for will make them look like idiots for getting cute with the trade deadline. I see no scenario where Ainge will give up Tatum for a guaranteed one year rental and that seems to be what N.O. is holding out hope for.:oldlol:

Depending on how this season goes it would be amazing to see him freezed out a full season.

If New Orleans isn't going to play their top 5 player in the league in the 4th or more than 25mins. isn't that basically blatant tanking?

It's different if a team puts 5 avg. players on the floor and expect them to win, but deliberately not playing you best player in a close game or not trying to protect your 8pt lead with 2mins left is deliberately not trying to win.

AD is pathetic just like most of these current quitters.

Bran started it.

Why do the Pels always play better when AD isn't playing or is playing limited

Love that AD is looking like a bigger bitch by the week. Players honestly have way too much power already, and there needs to be some rules set.

By a lot smaller of a margin than they would have.

NO was up by 2 heading into the 4th quarter. Not playing your best player for the entire 4th quarter means you're not committed to winning. You're not trying to win at all costs. By not playing him in a situation like that, you're setting the team up to lose more often than not. You're sending the message to the players and fans "I don't care if we lose"

The league can force teams to play players now? I remember when Vince Carter wasn't taking games seriously and the coach didnt give him any minutes. He'd come in the game, chuck up some jump shots and then sit on the bench. :lol

Enjoyable to watch but it feels like NO management screwed themselves just so they could make AD, Rich Paul, and the Lakers look bad.

Trust me there was very little defense involved. I watched that game.

I hope Gentry keeps doing this for the rest of the year. Maybe sit him on back to backs too.
