Which first option player who went all the way to the finals has faced weaker competition in the first three rounds than LeGOAT?

Some Eastern juggernauts to consider:

-Reggie Jackson
-Jeff Teague
-Kyle Lowry
-Bradley Beal
-Roy Hibbert
-Antawn Jamison

How did our LeGawd get through these BEHEMOTHS every. single. year!?!?!

That Hawks team was so good, the entire starting line-up was awarded player of the month. Jordan never had to.

magic is up there.

Hakeem and Moses are great but they had no help(and are the only 2 he lost too). Besides that it's like clyde, gervin, alex english, mark aguirre, and kevin johnson.

Lebron's star guys are weaker likely but he's technically faced kidd/carter, ben/chauncey, old kg/pierce/allen, paul george, dwight, melo etc.

And this is why - more often than not - he was demolished once he faced real competition in the Finals.

Not just beaten, but flat out embarrassed most times.

Kobe was facing defenders like prime Artest and prime Battier IN THE SAME SERIES and schooling them while they desperately try to tag eachother in the entire game.

Amazing.

Even if you Jordan stans bring up the ECF, LeBron's final's competition is still better than anything Jordan ever faced. Ever. If anything, it's just making your argument even weaker.

Factual statement: At no point in Jordan's career did he ever beat a team tougher than any of LeBron's three Finals MVP wins.

Nobody was ever saying that the teams Jordan faced in the Finals were any bad, that's just the new narrative bran stans try to push to discredit Jordan. If you go back to the 90s, you're never going to hear that Seattle or Utah were bad teams. They were all championship level teams.

The one thing you can say is that if you take the LebronEast teams back to the 90s, or to a similar strength East, then no stans would be comparing Lebron's Finals competition with Jordan, simply because he wouldn't be getting free trips to the Finals.

So your argument is that Lebron faced stiffer competition in the finals even though his path to the finals was easier than anything MJ ever faced? You just negated all of LeBron's finals appearances relative to MJ since it was easier for him to get to the finals in the first place.

As a lestan your job is to say shit that doesn't make him look even worse than he is, not the opposite.

Jordan faced a 60+ win team four times in the Finals and faced 60-win Knicks teams in the EC Playoffs

2013 Spurs with ancient Manu, Duncan and an injured Parker is tougher than Barkley's Suns? OKC with their 4 best players being 22-23 is tougher than beating Magic or Malone & Stockton? :facepalm

lol so does kawhi and supporting cast suddenly not matter. The 04 Spurs had a 7.51SRS and 57 wins, the 13 Spurs had a 6.67 SRS and 58 wins so comparable teams for their seasons.

If you wanna argue the 04 version is way better, you have to argue the league was way weaker in 2013. I doubt you really believe that.

In roughly the same # of seasons:

Kobe 24
MJ 20
Lebron 13, but 2 of them don't count because of shortened seasons.

Not surprised to see Kobe and MJ around the same ballpark. MJ's East was nothing like the joke East of Lebron's years...

A team like Denver could win 57 games while being led by Ty Lawson and past-prime Iggy :biggums: that team had zero all-stars btw :lol

04 Spurs had the best DRTG of the modern era and only other comparable teams are the 99 Spurs and 04 Pistons. Spurs had by far the highest SRS in the league as well due to their defense.

And Pippen would've PEAKED as a forever 2nd round exit maestro as a first option instead of being a 6 time champion under the GOAT.
