Depends on how many free-throws came along with it.

Fouling a player in shooting motion and getting to the line is production not found in FG%.

As we all know, even on polls run on ISH, FG% comes out uncontested as the most deceiving stat of all stats.

yes when you consider half the shots are from 3. That's the most important factor

No, I don't.

109/277 = 39.3% Not good for regular season heroics

Fantastic job at cherry picking. How bout you provide a little extra context next time?

First of all, I know its James Harden. He's currently shooting 44% from the field while attempting more threes than twos. When you take that into account, having that FG% is not a bad thing. At all. Actually, it's more on the impressive side.

Then you go into all the advanced stuff. Harden's eFG% is 55% which is very efficient and THEN you go into his TS% which is currently at 62.3%. That puts him at 14th in the entire league and only 0.2% right behind Kevin Durant. All these percentages show he's having an efficient season scoring 36.5 ppg :confusedshrug:

If you wanna continue to play that stupid cherry picking game, I can give you some bad shooting nights from other superstars to make them look bad as well.

Hate to break it to you guys but FG% doesn’t matter

Whenever someone mentions FG% you know their either have an agenda, or they are just clueless.

For example last night Harden was 9-23 from the field, 39.1% which looks bad. However Harden took 17 three pointers and only 6 2 pointers. So in those 23 attempts he scored 24 points for an EFG of 52.2%. He was also 7-7 from the foul line which leads to a TS of 59.4%, which is very strong especially for a high usage guard.

depends on how many times the player got to the line and how many threes they hit

a guy could go 5 for 20 and score 10 points or 30 points depending on the circumstances

5 threes + 15 free throws would make it a great scoring night
