If he took 80 shots. Yeah.

he scored 81 on 46 shots

now imagine how many more free throws he gets in todays game stopping the clock every time up the floor

and with the 14 second reset... plus freedom of movement added on

100 isn't out of the question

No, he couldn't, not with his playing style, but the free throws would probably be about a wash considering that while most of the league's defenses are much better than the piss poor 2006 Rap crew they're calling everything a foul. The lane parted for him several times in his 81 point game, Jalen Rose wasn't a good defender; I doubt you'd see a team make as many defensive lapses today.

Considering that perimeter offense is the focal point of today's league, and Kobe relatively struggled from there, I don't see how he's getting 100 points even considering that he could go off moreso than most players in the league's history - I don't see how 12 threes is going to net him 100 points.

Most people here can speak to the era and or critique it because we actually lived through it.

You on the other hand, are so full of disdain over a player you've only viewed on YouTube clips.

Step aside dick shit. There's men talking here.

Yea definitely would score at least 90-95, maybe 100.

I don't think there is any debate over the validity of this fact.

I still think it's a long shot.

Possibly.

I think Klay Thompson could score 70 easily on a good night. Harden, too. Curry could average 45 points a season on 60 TS%. Jordan today? LOL

Kobe was some of the time out of this world. He scored over 60 in 3 quarters. Could he catch fire and go for 90 points? Sure. He had 81. And 90 from 100 is like 3 shots away. So it's possible.

He was definitely capable of it, now that starting frontcourts can actually shoot and stretch the floor he'd have more open lanes than he ever did in his prime

Plus 3s are a bigger part of today's game and Kobe was great at drawing fouls

His washed ass scored 60 before retiring, prime Kobe would feast for sure

and still struggle to score 40 in a playoff game

100 won't ever happen. The other team would see to it after that 81-point threshold is crossed. Even if they had to resort to stupid shit like an inverse box and one zone

No because the coach would make him sit the 4th quarter

Harden at his hottest hasn't come close. Klay with 3 dribbles had 60. There's no chance unless you went like 5-6 OTs that anyone scores 100.
