Just imagine it, thinking Mike would be special in this era when he was battling the likes of Ehlo, Starks, Hornacek, on the wing :lol

Bron was facing guys like Kawhi, Iggy, Draymond, PG13, Butler in the playoffs while MJ was facing Ehlo, Starks, Hornacek, Terry Porter.

Is this really a comparison? Now imagine Mike sucks at 3s. So in this era he wuld be a liability on offense with no 3 shooting skills plus no more free passes facing John Starks on the wing. Imagine Kawhi or PG13 locking MJ up on the wing.

If Jordan played in this era = 23 ppg on 38%

I promise these pics are not photoshopped this is real stuff:

You realize that the % of white or non-black players is the same as the 80's and 90's right?

I can post pictures of Diaw, Barea, Bonner and the like, but that would omit Iggy, kawhi, etc, just like you're omitting rodman, drexler, mckey, payton, dumars, etc.

Of course, MJ also faced vastly superior paint and rim protection, including the greatest big men of all time; the golden era of bigs

Dumb thread
Pippen, Rodman, Horace Grant, Harper etc.

Jordan's toughest battles came in practice, all the best defenders of the time were on his ridiculously stacked teams :lol

Umm, what does white have to do with this?? Mikey faced weak scrubs on the perimter and Bron faced elite defense. Facts or nah

Mj dominated the paint in a big man's league are you trying to make our points for us? I wouldn't talk about weak defense to much when curry has guarded lebron for some reason bron can't post him up or make a play against him he passes out.

Not only did MJ face all the same perimeter athletes that lebron did, but he faced them with hand-checking and physical defense, while lebron enjoys league-mandated, hand-off defense...

Today's league is cupcake.. previous era greats would crush it..

i.e. hakeem would take embiid to school.. MJ would crush harden... bird and magic would show lebron/durant the right way to play and mentality to win.. and on and on.. Kemp would run circles around slow-ass Blake.. rodman would get inside fragile kawhi's head... Pippen would lock up George.. Penny would show doncic how to post; kareem would teach AD..

The only guy that previous eras couldn't show anything to would be curry... But then he'd be Mahmood Rauf at best back then so who cares

Yes OP - I notice that in the first 3 pics 2 of the 3 defenders are touching the offensive player.

Where as nobody in the 2nd series of pics are allowed to touch anyone, or it's a "foul".

jordan stayed dismantling triple, double, quadruple teams. i don't get the ehlo/horny argument when it was entire teams that couldn't stop him. single coverage was a rare strategy defending him.

[I]"According to NBA.com/Stats, James has had 26 possessions with Curry as his primary defender in the first three games of the Finals, almost nine per game. These possessions have come primarily toward the ends of games, when James methodically slows the offense, points at Curry

I thought posters get banned for comments about race?

This is clearly a racist thread as we've ever had on these boards. In fact most of OPs thread on his similar topics are always race baiting. Can something be done about this? This board doesn't need that.

OP is white or so I've heard. But he's retarded as fvck so he might think he's black. Not that it excuses any of this sh1t either way but the psyche tells a lot...

Who did you think was the toughest player to guard?

Bruce Bowen: Michael Jordan hands down because of his ability to think on the floor. Michael was a student of the game. He knew what you wanted to do and he knew how you’d defend it. He knew some of your strengths as far as what you wanted to do but he was going to enforce his will of what he was going to do because he was that good. And he had a never-quit attitude. All the other guys I played against, they quit at some point. They may not say it, but I knew, because I was dealing with them. I was very observant. So I know that when Kobe catches the ball and he just swings it to someone else, I know that I’ve won.

For every picture of Jordan being gaurded by Stark's or horn I could show you pictures of mj being gaurded by blackman, rodman, Wilkins or Xavier McDaniels.

Oh and mj could beat double teams like no other. He did it on a regular basis, especially in the 80's and early 90's. Now guys get screens every play to get open or get a worse defender on them. Don't take my word for it though. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=m_nt21y8Xy0

You don't even need clip compilations. Most regular game clips will show a number of hard doubles. Some others will show most possessions (even when he doesn't score and simply has the ball) and you'll see constant doubles and traps. And if he isn't directly getting a hard double there are instances in which he moves to avoid it.
