I don't think James Harden can be completely stopped but he can be minimized.
1. Tony Allen.(Kobe admitted he's the toughest defender)
2. Scottie Pippen.
3. Gary Payton.( per one site based on stats, had the most success defending MJ)

Who are your top 3?

If I need a defender for James Harden, I need a high IQ defender who's great at knowing where the help is and can crowd him without fouling. I also need a defender who has ref respect

1. Shane Battier- Young Battier on Harden would have ref respect while having size to bother harden and funnel him to the basket at a defender.

2. Tony Allen- Has the foot speed and instincts to make things very tough for him.

Current players....

Marcus Smart with a little more maturity is built to defend Harden.

the only way to combat a guy that gets all the calls is to get guys who are so polarizing that they could make the referee swallow his whistle to keep them out of foul trouble


kobe and jordan would harass harden and maybe get called for 3-4 fouls tops all game


pippen has the length to just direct him towards the basket and block him from behind
