He completely copied everything about another man down to his shadow.

More than half his rings he had a better player on his team.

I dont like his fans and i dont like the team he played for

I have him around 9-10, but he's not higher because of inefficiency and only having 2 rings without Shaq.

kobe is definitely one of the greatest of all-time. if we're ranking top 10 most entertaining he's definitely in there, guaranteed. even if we're looking at career success which is very different from entertainment value then he's also probably in there around 8 or 9 or 10.

as far as ability on the court there are a lot of players all-time who did their thing and killed it. he's borderline top 10 definitely top 12 in that category.

this is actually very reasonable. to be fair he spent most of his career with shaq so we have to him his credit for doing his thing and winning three chips as a top 5 player in the league.

how does a guy become the all time guard scoring leader without missing more shots than the 2 bigs ahead of him that never shot threes

its nearly impossible

kobes playoff run was the best in the NBA in 2001.. he was the best 2 way player and carrying the lakers vs the toughest teams.. top 5 is an understatement. kobe was the greatest 22 year old in history

The difference between a guard and a PF is 2 inches of height (Kobe/LeBron)?

01 was a great run for kobe. I remember the playoffs that year very well for several reasons. He arguably was as good as shaq but only in terms of on court production and not the fact that shaq was literally destroying every team making them shook to even play him in the first place.

that's the reason a lot of people that another swingman could've taken kobe's place - he was feasting off the fact that teams were so shook of playing shaq.

I think if you asked anyone in the lakers organization who the most valuable player was - they all (including kobe) would say shaq with no hesitation.

if anyone playing with shaq could do what kobe did (without massive referee collusion) then it would have happened considering shaq played with countless great players throughout his career

kobe proved he could do what he did with or without shaq. that argument has been thoroughly debunked

i watched the games too and shaq sat a ton because of foul trouble or hackashaq. kobe wasnt doing anything different with shaq on the bench

a year later he dropped 56 in 3 quarters with shaq out. then a year after that he had 9 straight 40 point games with shaq out for most of them

shaq had nothing to do with kobes greatness. he never did. which is why they split up so we could find out

I'm not a hater I troll here but I already acknowledged that kobe was great with and without shaq. I'm a raps fan of course I already know that kobe is arguably the GOAT offensive player when it comes to 1-on-1 scoring. it's the same reason MJ always sucks him off - MJ was the same type of player in that regard.

I don't think he's in the top five. I do think there's no doubt that Kobe is top 10, though, but he's at 10, rendering this thread useless.

Kobe's career was almost as great as LeBron's has been.

"I've always held the bar up very high for Kobe and he's not only reached that bar, but he's jumping over the top of it right now," Phil Jackson said. "It's the best that I've seen a player of mine play with an overall court game."

Western Conference teams absolutely knew how to defend Shaq, it's why Kobe always had to come up big in key games for them to reach the Finals. Shaq feasted against EC teams, but a lot of it had to do with how teams would defend the Lakers, and that's also something they both understood.

They took turns against teams depending on how they were being defended. EC teams played Shaq man-to-man and forced the ball out of Kobe's hands while the WC teams had the bigs to match up with Shaq and Kobe had more opportunities to dominate.

Kobe would have won 2 FMVPS with Shaq had the Spurs been their Finals' opponent.
