Steph hit 5.1 in 2016( same volume as Harden on considerably better efficiency obviously) in 79 games. Harden obviously would have to keep that pace and play more games. Crazy thing is Steph also hit his mark in 3 less minutes. Maybe Harden's legs get a bit rubbery by seasons end and falls short of the mark, because keeping that pace and usage for 82 games seems impossible. I'm waiting for the inevitable playoff dip in any event.

Everyone thought that about Westbrook's 30 point triple double season, but didn't happen. Yeah, the Thunder lost in the first round, but Russ was putting up huge numbers in that series as well.

The difference is that there's historical precedence of Harden having monster regular seasons, only to see those numbers fall off a cliff when the post season comes. So my sentiment of waiting for his inevitable playoff underperformance is based on a large sample of evidence. And Harden doesn't have peak Westbrooks athletic motor either. We'll see what happens this year.
