Because Sonic's were a great team. They won 60 plus games that year. They had a great coach and They had 2 great players. Payton was like playoff rondo only better and Kemp at that time was on his way to being one of the best power fowards ever. He abused one of the best defensive players ever in that series.

Jordan got locked up by 6'2 Gary Payton and was in the midst of the biggest chokejob ever
Thank god for Rodman in game 6 saving MJs legacy

After Jordan's 31 ppg on 46% got the Bulls a 3-0 lead, the team's play declined because they had 3 chances to win 1 game..
Otoh, Lebron's shitty play thru the first 3 games of 2013 Finals (17.3 ppg) forced his team to go 7 games and necessitated Ray Allen's miracle.
In game 6, Jordan's 22/9/7 led the team in points and assists, while holding Hawkins to 4 points, or 12 points below his average - this is significant, since the Bulls WON by 12, and everyone else let their man go off: Pippen let Schrempf get 23 points on 59%, Harper let Payton get 21 points on 70%, and Rodman let Kemp get 18/10 on 47%.
So Jordan's team-leading scoring, assists and defense was the hero of Game 6... And in Game 5, he shot 9-18 for 26 points, so he only had 1 bad game in the series - Game 4.. And we know why his Game 4 was bad - right before the game, he told a reporter (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfAoaAb3Nc0&t=42m32s) that "this is the most relaxed I've ever been in a Finals"... A 3-0 blowout lead will do that.

For 1995/96, Chicago's total season record was 87-13. 87% winning rate.
Only on ISH would people care to critique the GOAT team.
For reference, the 2015-16 GSW were 88-18. 85% winning rate.
Anyone ask why they lost a game in round 1 and 2, and 3 in the WCF, and lost the finals? Some of you "claim" that was the GOAT team..

I'm sure if LeBron or Kobe put up 22/9/7 on 45%TS & 5 turnovers you'd be praising their performance :oldlol:

Lebron had 27/11/11 on 47%TS 5 TO in Game 7 against the Warriors and was outplayed by Draymond Green, who had 32/15/9 on 93%TS. Thank god Kyrie bailed his ass out.

Kobe didn't miss a FT to ice the game in a Game 7... thank god Kevin Love shut Curry down on the three.

Only if they do that in a loss and hadn't already wrapped up the series 3-0
In a win, you have to start looking at defense, intangibles and things like that.. pippen was MIA the whole series and hurt the bulls offensively, while rodman wasn't an offensive player..
So MJ carried the bulls on both ends, including guarding Payton as the primary defender in game 3 (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=meL62CUehuw) and game 5 (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=IFiqeJcgXfg)
