NYC definitely has cool aspects, it's public transport is the best in the country, but imo it's overrated. Ridiculously overpriced, overcrowded, and the weather sucks half the year

But if you're an NBA star, does it really matter, since you can jump on a plane and be anywhere, own second homes in Florida, LA, the Bahamas, etc?

It's the biggest market, the Knicks have been so bad recently that winning a title there is an even bigger deal than winning in Cleveland, and so on.

If KD or Kyrie go to LA, they're second fiddle to Lebron, in a town that expects to win, so all that pressure unlike NY fans who will just be relevant at this point.

Cool story. I think KD is too logical to let one magical evening in Rucker Park- as amazing as it sounds - to let it influence who he plays ball with. But it's a great story because even if we're nobodies we often have one sports memory which was just special; it was raw, or became a spectacle, or the stars just aligned and it happened in a way that'll never happen again, that we remember for a long time after.
