It's a shame because 2/4 including goat choke and record loss is a robbery from the fans of what we were SUPPOSED to get with such an assemblage of talent... :facepalm .. bran-ball... :banghead:

If ur gonna cheat to win, at least thoroughly dominate, and definitely don't suck or need luck (11', 13', 14').. :facepalm

Bird was an alpha like Kobe so I see them going 3/4 in the finals.

I'm sure bird would win more than what he did with mchale.. at least b2b with Shaq.. maybe even a 3-peat, or a dominant one like Kobe did

Scary fukking team assuming health wasn't a concern.

Bird could play offball and Wade would look more like the one actually fun to watch. In other words, circa 2006-2011.

I'd say 2-4 rings.

Bird was MUCH better than Kobe was his first 3-4 years in the league, so they'd definitely be in legitimate title contention before 2000

I didn't know years 1-4 was a stipulation

:kobe: The fck does that have to do with what I just said. You act like they'd have the same exact run of success with 3 titles and 4 Finals, but considering Bird was a legitimate superstar player almost immediately, and Kobe wasn't until year 4 or 5, they'd have a much better chance to win titles sooner. Not that hard to comprehend bro :lol

Maybe 1. Then Bird's back breaks, Wade's knees give out and Bosh's blood clots appear.

Bird also broke way before Kobe so it evens out

Won't be too many, but more than Lebron-Wade-Bosh combo.

and Bird would not say something stupid like "not 3, not 4, not 5" crap

Lol but if you want to play the "of today" game then Bird also has access to today's health knowledge and "load management" resting so yeah

It was said at a pep rally that was only attended by Heat fans. No different than what's said at a college or H.S pep rally.

I'm sure he said that his team sucked, they had no chance and was going to get their ass kicked by Magic and MSU.

You have no prove for that, but when Bird called his teammates soft/sissies, his team won the next game. FACT.

You're telling me a 22-26 year old is better than a 18-22 year old? Brilliant analysis

Kobe from 20-24 (the specific period we're talking about) was probably better than Bird at the same span. Best case scenario team still wins 3 rings, but Bird never peaked higher than 2001 Kobe and that wasn't even peak Kobe :oldlol:

Anyway, to answer the OP, they would have won at least 3 rings in that 4 year span, don't know for sure about 2014 since that was not particularly close but it would have gone at least 6 games with Bird instead of LeBron.

Probably just one ring in '11 with Wade winning FMVP. That's about it. Wade and Bosh broke down after '11 and they were never the same.

Bird on the Lakers from his rookie season with Shaq? The Lakers would have 6 or 7 rings quite easily. I can even see them 6peating. They beat the Jazz in '97 and '98 and the Spurs in '99 without Chokebe and Bird taking his place. MJ definitely wouldn't have 6 rings, and Shaq ends up with 5 or 6 FMVP's and Bird with probably one FMVP. Shaq would be the undisputed GOAT.

That's a fair point, but doesn't change the fact Bird came into the league as an immediate superstar. The bolded though :biggums: '01 Kobe was beastly in the playoffs, but '84-'86 Bird was thugging the league

To each their own, you could make the argument that 84-86 Bird was better and that Kobe really benefited from Shaq's presence (never understood that argument for shot creators, it's role players or non ball-handlers that typically benefit from the presence of a superstar) but 01 Kobe was thuggin on the 55+ wins Kings and Spurs as well as the 50 win Blazers, dude was forced by Shaq and Phil to pump the brakes after his hot start but he and Shaq saved their best for the playoffs. He played awful in game 1 of the finals, no defending that, but averaged 27/9/6 on 54 TS% in their 4 wins, definitely on par with Bird's best finals and league defense was simply better in 01 (zone+handchecking still around, also just more defensive oriented in general) than in the 80s especially when it was against a top 5 defense.

So yeah, 1 year younger than rookie Bird and already had a better peak. And his best years came way after 2001. My 2 cents.
