How can you be the most skilled while being the AT Leader in missed FGA ?

All NBA players could launch the shots Kobe launched, except they weren't dumb enough to take shots with such low chance to go in

and "Offensive player" involve offense creation too, a domain where Kobe was nowhere near top 30 ever, except if you count Kobe Assists (offensive rebounding) as "Creating offense"

If Kobe were skilled, how come he never recovered from his torn achilles while the likes of Rudy Gay, Dominique Wilkins and DeMarcus Cousins have?

Easily. The entire league acknowledged it back then and it wasn't even a debate. Kobe's all-around game was 2nd to none in terms of his offensive arsenal and how polished all his moves were. He's the hardest worker of all-time in NBA history, maybe in all of sports.

The key phrase being "when Kobe went on tears". When Kobe was in the zone, he was unstoppable. Nobody else in the history of the NBA could do what Kobe did when he was feeling it. Kobes problem is that there were lots and lots of times when he wasn't feeling it, his shots weren't falling, but he kept jacking them up anyway.

most would agree kobe has the most skills/moves/counters and is equally proficient with either hand

people don't realize he started the curry range 3 point era

best high difficulty shot maker

only truly successful fearless player ever with playstation mentality

others who tried and failed = pistol pete maravich, allen iverson, tracy mcgrady, gilbert arenas, russell westbrook etc...

Man Prime Kobe was a beautiful thing. So much skill. A lot of people can't even notice how intricate his offensive moves are. The footwork, the pivots, cutting off defenders with angles. A lot of posters won't notice this because they have never played an ounce of a sport (i.e- dray, aj1987 and other varius ISH losers). You can tell who has played the game in a competitive way.

I've been saying that Kobe is the most skilled player ever when u combine scoring skillset, handles, passing, and defense as a package. So if we are just talking offense, he would still get the crown. He had more tools across the board to dominate a game than any other player. THAT doesn't mean he's the best offensive player ever. Just means his skillset is more varied than everybody else!

Disagree. MJ beats Kobe in skill. Same with Bird and others as well.

Why specify prime Kobe? Did Kobe get less skilled after his prime?

First one - bunch of useless moves that doesn't shake the defender, then he takes midrange contested fadeway which he makes 30% of the time.

Second - shakes a horrible defender and takes a long 2 pointer which he makes 35% of the time.

Third - can't beat his defender so puts up a hail mary and it luckily goes in.

Fourth - push off. Offensive foul.

Kobe's career TS of 55% would currently rank 28th among 2s.

Nope mj was way to smart to do any of that. There a reason why mj was more efficient and Kobe has the most misses ever. For every tough shot that Kobe made there's 3 or 4 that he missed.

MJ didn't have to.

That's what you don't seem to get.

Most of those shots aren't indicative of skill. It takes more skill to get an easier shot than to take a forced contested shot, get it???

Most of those plays Kobe either doesn't recognize, doesn't have the skill or simply doesn't have the IQ to put himself in a better situation.

Naw.. never mind.

1foot 3pt shots? how about from HALF COURT
https://youtu.be/AJzbrBUFB4Y?t=181

Double pump and split defenders IN MID AIR?
https://youtu.be/AJzbrBUFB4Y?t=198

Catch and shoot turnaround over defender
https://youtu.be/AJzbrBUFB4Y?t=304

Shoot over a double team
https://youtu.be/AJzbrBUFB4Y?t=313

Stop, pump fake from 2 feet away the 3pt line
https://youtu.be/AJzbrBUFB4Y?t=335

Running 1 foot jumper over a defender.... from HALF COURT
https://youtu.be/AJzbrBUFB4Y?t=530

Catch and shoot turnaround while fading away
https://youtu.be/AJzbrBUFB4Y?t=694
https://youtu.be/AJzbrBUFB4Y?t=775

According to this logic, Bron and Harden are more skilled than Kobe as they've hit a shit ton of more 3pt shots over defenders. We can post a compilation of Bron and Harden hitting tough 3pt shots over defenders as well.
