Quite a few drastic changes this year..

Galaxy Fold.. 4.6" smartphone that opens into a 7.3" tablet

4 new Galaxy s10 introduced..
5.8-inch S10e ($749);
6.1-inch Galaxy S10 ($899);
6.4-inch S10+ ($999);
6.4-inch S10 5G (pricing has yet to be announced)

Galaxy S10, S10+ and S10 5G devices feature a new curved, quad HD+ AMOLED display

The three higher-end models reverse Samsung's unpopular decision to put the fingerprint scanner on the back of the device. Now built into the display itself, the "ultrasonic fingerprint reader" compliments its Face Unlock feature but promises more security. It doesn't just take pictures of your fingerprint; the company says it uses machine-learning-based algorithm to read 3D fingerprints through ultrasonic sound waves.(Fingerprint data is stored only on the device itself, according to Samsung). The S10e features a capacitive fingerprint sensor on the side of the phone instead.

Better cameras across the board. Galaxy s10, s10+ and s10 5g has 6 cameras apiece.. Waste of money, weight and resources imo. What's the point of 6 cameras? :confusedshrug:

Software improvements mean battery life is up. Apparently 24hr battery life but we will see.. You can also use your s10 to wirelessly charge someone else's smartphone, including wireless charging someone else's iphone.

Each phone includes a wireless Galaxy Bud, which can also wirelessly charge. I like this addition.

i remember when the iphone 6s + came out and it was a big deal bc it was like $1000. my roomate got it on launch date and people wanted to check it out bc it was so expensive haha.

now $1000 can't even afford you the flagship model in some cases https://i.postimg.cc/Bnd0dQ4N/what.png

Looks like I'll resell my iPhone XS. Lucky thing I kept the box.

Haven't been on the galaxy since the S4. Ever since, the iPhone.

My only question is, would I be able to sync my messages on Android on my MacBook?

Iphone sales took a hit, and they're the only IOS company. Samsung has so many competition, I'll be shocked if they can sell this.

Nothing new. I've had the reverse wireless charging in my Huawei Mate 20 Pro since I bought it last October and I've never used it. The foldable phone sounds like a gimmick to be honest. Terribly overpriced too.

If it's not as easy to use as an Iphone, not interested.

Gen 1 device... I suspect they're aware they won't be moving a ton of these and set pricing to reflect that and the cost of production. Of all the new foldables, it looks like the best one to date and I'm interested to see the hands on reviews when it becomes available. Good to see Samsung innovating and I trust other companies are preparing offerings as well. Really looking forward to seeing Microsoft's courier-like device that we've been teased with for a decade.

A 4.6" phone would feel small at this point. And the unfold to a tablet function probably wouldn't come up that much on a day to day basis, except for extended stretches of time, like when you get home, at which point the 7.3" would feel small compared to the tablet you probably already have.

Agreed. You would need 11 to 12" for tablet to be worth it. 5.5" smartphone opening into 11" tablet/laptop would be nice but that's a couple years away probably :cheers:

I am impressed by the "whole screen finger print scanner"

The Iphone XS is annoying as **** with its FACE ID bullshit. The main reason I bought an Iphone 8+ instead of X last year was because it still had a finger print button.

Now, I actually predicted Apple to be the first ones to launch a device which unlocks to the tap on any part of the screen, surprised to see it was Samsung that got ahead.

Actually rethinking this. Touchwiz is shit. Absolute shit. How are the gestures? Ios did an amazing job on iPhone X/XS for gestures.

One thing that drives me insane.. Phones have outrageous prices, 1yr warranties on insane prices, no headphone jack, can't change batteries without spending $100..

What the hell is going on with smartphones?
