Not with PG and Giannis performance this season. They are actually balling and not faking their way to stats. Its a two horse race for MVP and Harden can pad his stats as much as he wants, he's not gonna get it.

Harden was keeping the ship a float when starters were down with injuries. He needed to play hero ball.
PG has had Russ and other starters all season. So has the Freak.
Safe to say Harden is still in the running.

This. You can argue that he isn't the favorite but he is 100% a top 5 candidate right now and almost certainly top 3.

Ugly play + hero ball + flopping + worse record = hes out of the MVP race. Deal with it. As if Chris Paul's corpse would have helped out a lot. If he played team basketball his team would have been better. Hes the joke of the league and if by way of manufacturing hes still in 3rd place in the race, hes far behind in that 3rd.

Paul George destroying him a couple of weeks ago and then blowing a 19 point lead to the Lakers put him out of the conversation completely
It's between PG and Giannis everyone else is irrelevant

Right, and Westbrook won the MVP two seasons ago because of his stats and carrying the Thunder while they won less than 50 games. So I wouldn't rule Harden out at all. Not if he ends the season with prime Kobe numbers.

Westbrook won MVP for putting up numbers we hadn't seen in modern times (triple-double average) despite his team's average record. The media will shift the narrative however they want to justify picking the player. Nash wasn't even the best player on his team in 06 when he won it, despite many other players having a stronger case (Kobe, Duncan, Lebron).

Harden leaves it on the offensive side , but seldom defends....
That is not a MVP style of play(.)

If?
Hes putting up 37/8/7 for the season. I think we can safely conclude he will finish with better than prime Kobe numbers. Just a matter of how much we care.
