Or you gonna wait for next season when we get this top 3-4 pick and get some national tv games to showcase the rookie who will be in his supporting cast getting all the attention initially?

He was putting up 25/12 recently even before the 35/15 today. I figure he will be productive enough next year to get more widespread attention.

He's a low-turnover modern finisher who can rebound with a decent catch and shoot game, and at his age he has good upside.

His outside shooting and size alone will keep him in the league, not sure though he develops into a legit triple threat attacker. If he does, watch out.

I remember when early season re-drafts had him still going 7th, and someone like Bleacher Report or Slam completely left him off a tweet on who'd have the best career from the 2017 draft.

Riding with him since DAY ONE!

If we can get Ja Morant next season is gonna be fun

Morant/LaVine/Porter/Lauri/WCJ

EDIT: Found it.

Does he get hurt a lot? He can't be as injury prone as Porzingis can he? I like the kid, you gotta build around him. There is young talent in Chicago, but they need a veteran that can lead. Of course a great draft pick would help as well.

Yes.

He's really good.

The Bulls quietly could have a pretty good squad next year if they had their draft pick.

Lauri needs to develop some other offensive weapon apart from the pick and pop and needs to improve his defense massively. I see him becoming a KLove type, but KLove could also work from the post.

Theres a reason why the Bulls have been quite bad despite having an offensive stud in Lavine and defensive anchor in RoLo. Markannen is still somewhat of an empty stats guy.

I feel like it would be hard to watch the Bulls play and not notice how often he takes people off the dribble or attacks in transition. Hes eventually gonna have to improve going left but right now facing up? Hes been driving and scoring on fadeaways, pullups, and crafty bank shots off the glass pretty well. Let him go right hes got quite a few weapons.

And everyone on a 15 win team is an empty stats guy.

"Offensive stud in Lavine" You sure HE'S not the empty stats guy?

Outside of Porter, Lauri has the best RPM on the team. Dunn and Carter are black holes offensively

He has a good motor so he can score in (semi)transition but I don't see an above average off the dribble ability. He needs to gain muscle and strength because hes not physical enough. And defense is a major issue. He needs to become at least average there. Long way to go, longer than most people here think imo

Lavine is as complete as a scorer gets already. He needs to carry the team and provide constant offensive pressure and threat, so he has to make a lot of decisions. Its obvious he will not be super efficient because of that. But he is without a doubt cornerstone of the team if we talk potential.

If you dont see above average off the dribble ability from Lauri its because you dont know what average is for people 7' 240. Hes not above average for a guard. Hes well above average for a solidly built seven footer. Hes going coast to coast hitting hesitations into crossovers. Even in this day that isnt normal.

Coast to coast I have seen, but hesitations and crossovers, not really. But then again I am not following the Bulls that closely so I trust your word on that, (even though POrzingis is much better in this for example).

But this is open court in any case, catching defense unprepared. In the half court, he needs more physicality and skill off the block - and on the other end too.

He's not even 22 yet...barely played more than a full season. Yea, he's not perfect.

But he actually does a lot of what you say he doesn't...and he's already turned himself into a consistently good player.

He'll probably do 21/10/2 next year if he's healthy and gets 35 minutes a game.

Had me worried thinking I missed some obscure 2014 trade that was just coming back to bite us. I was mad as hell for like 18 seconds.

SALT LAKE CITY -- — Lauri Markkanen scored a career-high 38 points, including an improbable turnaround jumper to beat the shot clock with 38.5 seconds left, and the Utah Jazz beat the Phoenix Suns 134-133 on Friday night.
