They are close clearly, but not in the same generation. Same generation is a 5 year period at max and Kobe was in the NBA SEVEN years before Bran Jame.

So then does it make sense to compare head to heads between players that are generations apart?

It does on a small level, it's not completely pointless or anything.

I think comparing Kobe and Duncan makes a more interesting discussion.

Comparing Lebron and Durant makes more sense too.

Hmm let's see here.
Kobe - phony
Durant - snake
Duncan - phaggit
Lebron - The real-life inspiration behind Goku.

It seems one of these is not like the others.

How does a guy that's lost 6 times in the finals get that title? Are you delusional or just stupid?

I didn't realize Goku has 3 times as many losses than wins.

kobe won 5 from 2000 to 2010

lebron won 3* from 2012 to 2016

kobes very end of his prime coincided with the beginning of lebrons ( 2009 )

for that one year it was comparable and would have been a great finals to witness them go up against each other

sadly lebron choked vs dwight howard and cost the nba a chance at a real historical moment

Lebron wasn't close to winning a single Finals during Kobe's prime, that's all I need to know.

Same the other way around right? So you agree with my OP?

Post MJ for me is Shaq/Duncan/Kobe/Lebron/Durant in that order for generation goats (chronologically of course).
