He is a top 4 GOAT honestly.

It goes MJ, Kareem, Bill Russell, Kobe.

5-10 can be whoever, but the BLACK MAMBA was a killer!

He’s underrated by LeBronvestites 3-6 mafia and overrated by Kobe Stans. True Laker / Magic fans, Bird / Celtic and Jordan / Bulls fans have the best grasp on reality of who he was as a player. Lower top 10 player, bootleg MJ.

That is a bit too far.

If MJ is a 10, Kobe is about a 9.

30/6/5 vs 25/5/5

6 Rings vs 5 rings

6 fmvps vs 2 fmvps

5 MVPs vs MVP

DPOY vs

Playoffs: 33/6/6 vs 26/5/5

Huh? More like a 10 vs 8.5 ... And I think that is more than a little fair.

So how would you compare a 27/7/7 regular season, 29/9/7 playoffs, and 30/10/8 finals player to MJ

On higher percentages as well

I don't are about accolades or stats. I am talking about them as players. MJ is clearly better, but the gap between him and Kobe isn't that large. Honestly, the same is for most all-time greats.

1.5 rating is that much better to be considered disrespectful to Kobe?

Their playoff number comparison or even regular season is indicative of their difference in quality as players.

5-8 ppg more ... 1 apg and 1 rpg more.

And I say that with extreme respect and admiration of Kobe. Who is one of the 5 best players I’ve ever seen in real time with my own eyes.

It’s that large when considering production, success, leadership and defensive consistency. If you want to say 10 v 9 that’s fine but I think 8.5 is kore accurate by comparison having watched both their careers.

Out of curiosity if MJ is a 10 and Kobe is a 9 to you ... what would you rate LBJ / Bird / Magic?

Kobe, Lebron, Shaq, MJ, Magic, and Bird. They've all gone through the hype machine. None of these phakkits is underrated

MJ is a 10, Lebron is a 9.5, Magic and Bird are 9s.

IMO, people exaggerate the gap between guys who considered top 10-12 players. There are distinctions (ex. Kobe and Jordan) on who is better, but it is not as big as people think.

I mean we are dealing with the best of the best here.
I ****s with that

Did Kobe lose a game when his teammates scored 20+ and 30+?
I watched every Laker game back in Kobe

Yea he lost THE NBA FINALS in 2004 with Shaq dominating.. It happens the Lakers could not get INTO there offense because Kobe turned Payton into a jump shooting guard.. Payton should have initiated the offense and KObe should have been off the ball..

MJ > Duncan > Kobe

LeQuit is about 20-25 range in the goat list.

No way you put a player in the top 10 who have asked multiple all stars to play along side him. Just no way.

i have kobe at 4th all time behind the only 3 guys in the goat conversation ( mj, kareem, russell )

the 4th spot can be argued by a few guys but personally i feel kobe is ahead of the following players for the following reasons

Magic - Because he didn't play any defense and kobe was an all time great at it and won with way less help

Bird - Because kobe has more 50 point games in one week than bird has period and won with way less help

Duncan - Because kobe destroyed him in the playoffs all the time and reclaimed gold for the US after duncans bronze nightmare.

Shaq - Because kobe had a top 10 all time career with and without him and all shaq has is a role player 3rd option ring behind antoine walker and being benched for alonzo mourning during 4th quarters

Wilt - Because Kobe has a winning finals record and won in a more respectable era

Lebron - also Because kobe has a winning finals record and won in a more respectable era while also giving a damn on defense and didn't ring chase/collude/cheat/abuse roids/call adam silver for help/destroy franchises every 4 years etc...

hakeem - because kobe has a better resume than him even if you delete everything he did with shaq
