Is it better to:

* Dribble the ball until there is virtually no time left on the shot clock while waiving your teammates away from the key and to stand still out on the perimeter waiting for you in case you whip it back out to them when the defense packs the paint on your inevitable downhill drive? (lots of gameclock left - this isn't for the last shot)
or
* Share the ball with your teammates as soon as you cross half court allowing them touches and encouraging off-ball movement and cuts potentially opening up easy looks and baskets for everyone - with ample time on the clock for the "right play" to develop?

Here's another one:

* Practice and play against the best in the pursuit of becoming the best - all in the spirit of competition (measuring yourself vs the best)
or
* Team up with the best - forgoing the competitive angle you just want a win on paper it doesn't matter if you joined the best to get it and now are beating teams clearly less stacked than yours (stacking the deck)

These are just hypothetical - imagine you are mentoring your own kin how would you want them to play the game of basketball? :confusedshrug:

You will never get through to them. It's not VORP or Gamescore.

Excellent thread though :applause:

It’s better win win without another all star teammate (LeBron 2016) than lose with all star teammates (Jordan in 1990 and 1995)

So you admit Kobe had one allstar in 2013.

Why did LeGOAT lose to GSW with one allstar last year and King James Harden took them to 7 by himself with NO allstars

Were you one of those kids that wore hockey equipment but weren't on the team?

Its better to run away when things get too hard, and get as much help as you can....especially when you require a bailout all the time.

Interesting set of values

I would predict the ball freezing / bailouts would lead to a lot of individually padded stats due to ball domination (you either shoot or "assist" and it's always in your hands until the last second giving you full stat domination capability even in spite of 4 guys being stationary and unable to leave an impact that helps a "team" win).

I could see this set of values getting your kin into trouble. Wouldn't you be worried they would become addicted to too much possession control over a game and their ball-dominant weighted statistics might get to their head and create ego issues? Maybe this ties into the running away when things get tough because they came to expect victory... since it doesn't just come - change teammates instead of changing their own game because they think they aren't the problem due to their "stats"... interesting concepts I will have to think about this more
