Stick a fork in em'.. They're so done
They're 4-23 when the opponent scores 115+, and 25-8 when they don't have to match that level of output (so 114 or less)
Tonight was one of the lower-scoring affairs, but lebron's 24 points let them down - if he has 30, they win... :facepalm
There's no game that's more winnable for the Lakers then a low-scoring affair against a bad team like Memphis... yet they still couldn't win.. it's ova folks!

This. Plus it seemed like Memphis was damn near giving the game away in stretches - tons of turnovers before the half, lack of scoring throughout big stretches in the 4th. I almost felt like the refs were giving LA the benefit of the doubt - Lebron hit a ball of his leg = LA ball. Lebron's last big bucket was 4 steps. The time Kuz was blocked cleanly - block called.
Even with Silver's help LA couldn't win...:facepalm

I still believe we go on a run with Lonzo. But it might be too late. How the fvck did Magic trade Zubac? He has destroyed this franchise in the last few months and the only way to make it better at this point is by trading lebron while he still has value.

Spurs and Kings dropped one tonight, so the Lakers lost no ground, unless the clippers can hang on..
Tbh, I think a lot of teams see the writing on the wall and actually wouldn't give up their best assets for lebron, unless it was mostly a business move for ticket sales, which it probably would be..
the Lakers have been too impatient with their young players and lebron's presence only made them more impatient.. the Lakers were basically fooled by lebron's Eastern Conference prowess.. sure the Lakers were the 4 seed pre-injury, but based on this sluggish finish and strength of schedule, it wasn't going to last

Its over dude.. Lakers are getting no production from the bench because they dont have a guy that can score on the bench.. Giving up ZUBAC for a scrub has to be one of the worse moves I have ever seen a GM make..
Everyone thought this kid was going to be a good player and possibly a Marc Gasol type player and he gets traded for absolutely nothing.. WOW.. Magic just screwed the crap out of the LAKERS..
Tell me how much better is AD in terms of impact than ZUBAC is currently? I just dont see it..

Exactly.
I cant believe Jeanie Buss and Magic are this stupid and short-term sighted.... Is there anything we aren't seeing here? Its unbelievable..

There’s something off about LeBron lately that doesn’t have to do with him ‘losing a step’ or getting older—he’s been like that since the season started. But I have noticed a change in body language that seems so resigned. You can tell when he shakes his head after a lakers missed defensive assignment or how he hangs his head after a turnover. I’m not sure where it’s coming from—basketballwise he’s still the same player that got us to 4th seed earlier this season. Mentally is another issue. I wonder if the trade deadline drama impacted him as it impacted the young core during the skid into the 10th seed.

I do pin the lack of defensive intensity as an example of poor leadership from lebron but nothing much else is his fault. A lot of it is magic and rob. 7 points from the bench tonight is utterly pathetic. Rondo, chandler, lance, javale...all these dude are gassed and have checked out mentally. Trading Zubac might be as bad as anything Jim Buss might have done. Outside lebron, kuzma and ingram, the Lakers are surrounded by mediocrity. That’s the team magic and rob built.
Hopefully lonzo can save us :(
oh the horror

He’s the same player he’s always been. Dude has never been a good leader. Ever.
He sulks, throws players under the bus, and has gotten so used to the culture of cutting corners to ring chase that any assets around him as viewed as expendable to form yet another ‘super team’
Mistake one was signing this dude to a 4 year contract. He’s clearly on the downside of the hill. You can SEE it.
Lakers basically disrupted the upward trajectory on a promising young team by signing this guy who is in the latter days of his career and now they’re in a “win now mode”
The unfortunate issue with that is it’s prompted them to make stupid moveslike trading away Zubac in what was an absolutely puzzling move. They got back absolutely nothing of value.
All of these stop gap temporary signings will mean jack-sh*t if the Lakers whiff and do not put together a contender come next season. If they fail this will be the worst direction they have taken yet.
You’ll be essentially stuck with an aging primadonna with a mixture of semi decent players not good enough to compete for a title and young up and coming players. Basically directionless.
This is brutal to watch man. It feels like this team is going entirely in the wrong direction.
