He's an all-star player if not for one element: his pnr defense. It's not attrocious, but it's below average at least. Didn't help him being paired with DeRozan all this year either. Defending in space is a problem for him most of the time, but most of the bigs have this problem. He does protect the rim and is a great post defender, but defending in space often times is more important. That's what limits his minutes somewhat, even tho it's quite arguable if it ever should, as he probably outweights these with his elite rebounding and offense, which includes one of th best screens setting skills in the league. His advanced stats are really good and shows that he's a winning player.

He's always been a decent per minute player and has actually adapted his game to current NBA a lot more than he gets credit for. He was almost always a positive force on the floor with the Raptors, especially this season.
It's no big surprise he has fit right in with the Grizz, he's actually quite similar to Gasol at the same age, Gasol is better passer and defender, but JV is more efficient and isn't far behind Gasol on passing ability, the apg is all based on opportunity... and obviously at 2.4 apg in 25 mins (pretty good for a big playing with a bunch of new players), they plan on using him basically as a Gasol lite.
Oh ya, he's still only 26, so given a chance, he could end up being one of the better centers in the league. I think that was a great get for the Grizz, a 7 year younger, lite version of Gasol, plus a good young role player in Wright who can play 3 position and is a solid defender(the kind of guy who ever team wants). These aren't guys the Raps wanted to trade, but getting Gasol in what might be the only year Kawhi is in town is worth the shot at a chip (and maybe in doing so, convincing Kawhi to stay  ).

It's why the Cavs were always able to feast against the Raptors. They put Love at the 5 and kept exposing him over & over again.

Yet I have no desire to watch him. I've realized I wasn't really a Grizz fan, I was a fan of the Mike/TA/ZBo/Marc chemistry and their individual characters combining into one identity. It sucks watching boring players play, especially when the team sucks.

If you mean bodying other centers with smart vet moves than yes.
Jonas is a powerhouse center who eviscerates pretender centers. Straight up old school bully ball.
His lack of ability to close out on the perimeter is vastly overrated, compared to the ability to destroy small ball lineups.
The problem in Toronto was that Casey never adjusted, he kept playing the same if Jonas was on the floor or not. Stupid! If you have Jonas in the game, then feed him the ball every possession. Otherwise don't bother.
